WisdomTree, Inc.

Updated

Overview

WisdomTree, Inc. is a global asset manager and financial-products provider specializing in exchange-traded products and investment solutions. Its offerings span equities, commodities, fixed income, currencies, alternatives, cryptocurrency and private assets, alongside digital-asset and blockchain-enabled financial services.[1][2] Its products include listings in the United States and Europe.[3]

WisdomTree states that its mission is “to deliver a better financial experience through the quality of our products, solutions and engagement.” [4] For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, it reported total operating revenues of $493.8 million.[5] [1]

Products & services

WisdomTree offers exchange-traded products and funds across equity, fixed income, commodities, currencies, leveraged and inverse strategies, alternatives and cryptocurrency exposures. Examples include BTCW, which provides spot bitcoin exposure; GDE, which combines U.S. large-cap equities with gold futures; DWM, which invests in developed-market dividend-paying equities; and NTSI, which combines international equities with U.S. Treasury futures.[6]

Its digital-asset offerings include tokenized Digital Funds investing in traditional assets, WisdomTree Connect for institutional and business access, and the WisdomTree Prime digital wallet. The funds use blockchain-integrated ownership records and include exposures such as tokenized gold, U.S. dollars, fixed income and equities.[2] Through Ceres Partners, WisdomTree also provides investment-advisory and management services for private funds and a pooled vehicle investing in farmland real estate.[20][6]

Portfolio Solutions provides consultations—including portfolio-composition analysis, stress tests and holdings-overlap reviews—CIO-managed model portfolios, and Shared CIO co-management that can include trading, rebalancing and tax optimization. The company reported $6.1 billion in model-portfolio assets under advisement at December 31, 2025.[21] WisdomTree reports one operating segment and does not provide a product-type revenue percentage breakdown in the cited filings.[26][27] [6]

Geographic presence

WisdomTree’s operations span the U.S. and Europe. At June 30, 2026, it reported $162.9 billion in total assets under management, including $99.0 billion in U.S.-listed ETFs and $61.1 billion in European-listed ETPs. These figures are organized by product listing market, not by investor location or underlying-asset geography. The available disclosures do not provide revenue by country or region.[28][29]

At December 31, 2025, WisdomTree had 360 full-time employees globally: 236 in the U.S. and 124 in Europe. Its principal executive office is in New York; listed EMEA offices are in London, Dublin, Milan, Munich and Paris.[29] Its regional operations include U.S.-based investment management, Irish-domiciled UCITS fund management and distribution, and U.K.-based distribution and support. Its European-listed products are marketed across multiple EU countries, as well as the U.K.[32] [28]

Business segments

WisdomTree reports one operating segment, described as an “ETP sponsor and asset manager.” Its offerings include exchange-traded products, models and solutions, private-market investments, and digital-asset products; these are business and product areas within that single segment, not separately reported segments [41][42]. The company provides investment-advisory services and has also described digital products and services, including tokenized real-world asset funds and platforms, as well as private-market investments [43][44].

The single reported segment represents 100% of the company’s reported operations; WisdomTree does not report separate segment contribution percentages. As an indication of product mix—not a segment allocation—AUM at March 31, 2026 was $152.556 billion: U.S.-listed ETFs were approximately 59.6%, European-listed ETPs 38.5%, digital assets 0.6%, and private assets 1.3% [45]. Company history

WisdomTree’s predecessor, Financial Data Systems, was incorporated in 1985. Founder Jonathan Steinberg’s business began in financial publishing, including the magazines *Individual Investor* and *Ticker*, before the company shifted toward investment products. Its name changed to Index Development Partners in 2002 and WisdomTree Investments in 2005. On June 16, 2006, it launched its first 20 ETFs, including dividend- and fundamentally weighted strategies.[46]

The company expanded internationally with a majority investment in UK provider Boost in 2014, followed by acquisitions of GreenHaven’s commodity-fund business in 2016 and ETF Securities’ European exchange-traded commodity, currency and short-and-leveraged business in 2018. Jonathan Steinberg became President in 2012; Jarrett Lilien was named President and COO in 2019. That year, WisdomTree launched a physically backed Bitcoin ETP in Switzerland, and in 2023 it introduced WisdomTree Prime, a digital-finance app. The company adopted the name WisdomTree, Inc. in 2022 and launched its U.S. spot Bitcoin Fund in January 2024. In 2026 it completed the acquisition of Atlantic House, expanding its active ETF and defined-outcome strategies.[50] [46]
