Company history
Victoria’s Secret was founded in 1977 by Roy Raymond and was acquired by Leslie Wexner’s The Limited in 1982, beginning its growth under the retailer’s ownership [28]. The company broadened its offerings beyond lingerie, launching a fragrance line in 1991 [29]. It introduced PINK in 2004, extending the business to a younger customer segment [30].
In 2021, Victoria’s Secret separated from L Brands and became a standalone publicly traded company [31][32]. It expanded its brand portfolio with the acquisition of digital-first intimates company Adore Me, announced in November 2022 and completed in January 2023 [33][34]. In 2024, Hillary Super became CEO, succeeding Martin Waters; the FY2026 annual report records her appointment as effective September 9, 2024 [35]. [29][31][32][35][28][30][33][34]
