Its products support pharmaceutical, biotechnology and other life sciences companies across research and development, quality management, and commercialization. Its principal product families are Development Cloud, Quality Cloud, Commercial Cloud and Data Cloud.[1]

Veeva states that its goal is to be a strategic software, data and consulting partner to the life sciences industry, helping customers bring products to market faster. It also defines its public-benefit purpose as making the industries it serves more productive and creating high-quality employment opportunities.[1][4] For the fiscal year ended January 31, 2026, Veeva reported $3.20 billion in revenue and had 7,928 employees worldwide. It maintained offices across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.[5] [1]

Products & services

Veeva Systems provides cloud software and data products for life-sciences companies. Its Vault platform supports applications that manage documents and structured data, which customers can deploy individually or integrate across workflows.[8] Development products include clinical trial management (CTMS), electronic trial master files (eTMF), electronic data capture (EDC), clinical data management (CDB), and randomization and trial-supply management (RTSM).[9] Its regulatory applications support the planning, preparation and tracking of submissions, while safety applications manage adverse-event information and drug-safety processes.[10][11] Quality offerings include quality management (QMS), regulated document management through Veeva Quality Docs, and laboratory workflows such as batch-release testing and stability studies.[12]

For commercialization, Vault CRM supports interactions with healthcare professionals across sales, marketing, medical and service teams.[13] PromoMats manages promotional content and its review and approval, while Veeva Medical supports medical-affairs content and engagement.[14][15] Veeva’s data products include OpenData, a reference database of healthcare professionals and organizations; Link, curated information about people, organizations and scientific activity; and Compass, de-identified U.S. patient and prescriber data used for commercial analysis.[16] Crossix provides analytics for pharmaceutical media and marketing effectiveness.[19]

Veeva also offers professional services for implementation, configuration, project management and related process changes.[20] In fiscal 2026, Commercial Solutions accounted for approximately 45% of total revenue and R&D and Quality Solutions for 55%; these are broad product-area groupings, not revenue figures for individual products.[23] [8]

Geographic presence

Veeva Systems is headquartered in Pleasanton, California, where it houses its principal executive function and significant product development, engineering, marketing, finance and legal teams. It also leases offices across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. The company reported 7,928 employees worldwide for its fiscal year ended January 31, 2026, but did not provide a regional workforce breakdown.[24]

In fiscal 2026, North America accounted for $1.90 billion, or approximately 59.6%, of revenue; Europe for $940 million (29.4%); Asia Pacific for $280 million (8.8%); and other international markets for $72 million (2.3%). Veeva reports revenue by broad region rather than individual country. Its primary third-party hosted computing infrastructure is located in the United States, European Union, Japan and South Korea.[25] [24]

Business segments

Veeva Systems reports one operating and reportable segment. It separately presents revenue for two solution categories—Commercial Solutions and R&D and Quality Solutions—but these are not reportable segments.[28][29]

Commercial Solutions comprises Veeva Commercial Cloud, which supports life-sciences sales, marketing and medical affairs, and Veeva Data Cloud, which provides industry data and analytics. It accounted for approximately 45% of total revenue in the fiscal year ended January 31, 2026.[29]

R&D and Quality Solutions comprises Veeva Development Cloud, with applications for clinical, regulatory and safety processes, and Veeva Quality Cloud, with applications for quality management, regulated content, training and laboratory processes. It accounted for approximately 55% of total revenue in that fiscal year.[29] [28]

Company history

Veeva Systems was founded in 2007 by Peter Gassner and Matt Wallach. Gassner became chief executive officer at its founding, and the company entered its first commercial agreement that year. Its first commercially available product was Veeva CRM, software for life sciences companies.[32] In 2011, Veeva introduced its first Vault application to manage promotional materials, later expanding Vault into areas including clinical-trial documentation and regulatory submissions. The company completed its initial public offering in October 2013.[34][35]

Veeva acquired commercial content-management provider Zinc Ahead in 2015 and healthcare data and analytics company Crossix in 2019.[36][37] In February 2021, it became a Delaware public benefit corporation. Vault CRM, a successor to its original CRM product, became fully available to new customers in April 2024.[38][39] [32]
