Trip.com Group Limited is an online travel services company founded in 1999. Through Ctrip, Qunar, Trip.com and Skyscanner, it helps leisure and business travelers search for and book accommodations, transportation, tours and other travel services. It also provides corporate travel management. The company’s stated mission is “to pursue the perfect trip for a better world.” [1]

The group serves travelers in China and internationally, with China remaining a major base of operations. It reported net revenue of RMB62.4 billion in 2025 and employed 43,574 people at year-end.[4] [1]

Products & services

Trip.com Group offers travel products through Ctrip and Qunar in China, Trip.com for international travelers, and Skyscanner for travel search. Its accommodation service lets customers search, compare and book stays using filters, traveler reviews and recommendations. Transportation ticketing covers flights, trains, long-distance buses and ferries, with related offerings such as flight-and-hotel combinations, insurance and airport services.[1]

Its packaged-tour offerings include group, semi-group and customized itineraries, alongside destination activities, attraction tickets, guides and visa services. Corporate travel services help businesses plan and book employee trips. The group also offers car services and travel-related insurance and financing. Its platforms use travel data and route-planning algorithms to help customers find tickets and combine travel products.[11]

In 2024, accommodation reservations accounted for approximately 40.5% of revenue and transportation ticketing 38.0%; packaged tours contributed 8.1%, corporate travel 4.7%, and other services 8.7%.[16] [1]

Geographic presence

Trip.com Group conducts most of its operations in China, while serving travelers internationally. Its Ctrip and Qunar brands focus on the Chinese market; Trip.com serves travelers globally, and Skyscanner operates in more than 50 countries and regions. Trip.com had 48 local sites available in 27 languages and 44 currencies at the end of 2025.[17]

The company reported around 6,000 offline stores across approximately 300 Chinese cities and 26 customer-service centers worldwide. Its principal executive office is in Singapore. At the end of 2025, it employed 43,574 people, a substantial majority of them in China. The company reports one operating segment and does not provide a country- or region-level revenue breakdown.[20] [17]

Business segments

Trip.com Group reports a single operating and reportable segment; it does not report its travel services as separate business segments. Its revenue categories nevertheless provide a breakdown of its activities.[23]

In 2024, accommodation reservations contributed approximately 40.5% of total revenue, primarily through commissions from hotel reservation partners. Transportation ticketing contributed 38.0%, including commissions on ticket bookings and related services. Packaged tours accounted for 8.1%, covering bundled tour products and partner referrals.[16]

Corporate travel contributed 4.7% of total revenue, primarily from booking and travel-management services for business clients. The remaining 8.7% was classified as “others,” primarily online advertising and financial services. These percentages are calculated from the company’s reported 2024 revenue categories.[16] [23]

Company history

Trip.com Group was founded in 1999 as Ctrip by James Liang, Min Fan, Neil Shen and Qi Ji. It listed on Nasdaq in 2003.[29][30] The company expanded its travel-platform portfolio in 2015 through a share exchange with Baidu that gave it a substantial voting interest in Qunar. It completed the acquisition of travel-search company Skyscanner in December 2016.[31][32] Jane Sun became chief executive officer in November 2016.[33]

The company changed its corporate name from Ctrip.com International to Trip.com Group Limited in October 2019, reflecting a portfolio that included Ctrip, Qunar, Skyscanner and Trip.com.[34][35] In April 2021, it began trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, adding a Hong Kong listing to its Nasdaq listing.[36] [29]
