Company history

Trane Technologies traces its operating roots to 1885, when James Trane and his son Reuben started a family plumbing business in La Crosse, Wisconsin; in 1913 they incorporated The Trane Company.[27] A major turning point came on June 5, 2008, when Ingersoll-Rand completed its acquisition of Trane Inc.[28]

The company was reshaped again on December 1, 2013, when Ingersoll-Rand separated its commercial and residential security businesses into Allegion, creating an independent public company.[29] The modern company took shape in 2020, when Ingersoll-Rand plc completed the separation of its Industrial segment and its merger with Gardner Denver, and the remaining company was renamed Trane Technologies plc; Gardner Denver then adopted the Ingersoll Rand name.[30][31] [28]+4
