Company history
Tokyu Fudosan Holdings traces its real-estate roots to Den-en Toshi Co., established in 1918, which began selling land in the Den-en Chofu garden-city development in 1923. Its principal predecessor, Tokyu Land Corporation, was established on December 17, 1953, when Tokyu Corporation separated its real-estate business into a new company.[25][26]
Tokyu Land expanded beyond property development in the following decades: Jiyugaoka Tokyu Plaza opened in 1961, Tokyu Community was established in 1970, the predecessor of Tokyu Livable in 1972, and Tokyu Hands in 1976. Its resort business grew with the launch of the Tokyu Harvest Club in 1988.[27][28][29] On October 1, 2013, Tokyu Fudosan Holdings was established as the holding company for Tokyu Land, Tokyu Community and Tokyu Livable. The group later divested Tokyu Hands in 2022.[30][28] [25][26][27][28][29][30][25][26][27][28][29][30]
