Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc. is a bank holding company whose principal banking subsidiary, Texas Capital Bank, provides commercial and consumer banking and financial services. Founded in 1998, the company is headquartered in Dallas and has a strong Texas presence, with banking offices in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. It also serves clients nationally and announced offices in New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago in 2026. The company describes its purpose as helping businesses grow and thrive.[3] [1]

Products & services

Texas Capital’s offerings center on commercial banking and include term loans and lines of credit, working-capital and asset-based lending, equipment finance, letters of credit, SBA and sponsor finance, and commercial real-estate construction, acquisition, and refinancing loans. It also provides mortgage finance to mortgage originators.[6]

Business deposit and treasury offerings include payment and collection services, liquidity management, investments, instant payments, and fraud protection. Commercial card products include Purchasing, Travel & Entertainment, Fleet, ePayables, Virtual, and One Card. BankNow offers commercial online and mobile banking, account visibility, reporting, permissions, and fraud controls; Integrated Treasury Management supports ERP integration, APIs, and secure file transfer.[9]

Private-banking services include investment management, financial and estate planning, trust services, and wealth-transfer strategies. Texas Capital Securities offers investment banking and capital-markets services, including debt and equity offerings, M&A advisory, sales, and trading. Personal banking products include checking, savings, money-market accounts, and CDs, with Star Checking and Star Plus Checking among the named checking products.[13]

In Q2 2026, commercial loans represented 52% of loans held for investment. At June 30, 2026, mortgage finance loans were $6.383 billion, or approximately 25.6% of gross loans held for investment. For the quarter, reported income included $12.5 million in treasury product fees, $5.1 million in wealth-management and trust fees, and $42.8 million in investment-banking and trading income; these figures are disclosed product-related measures, not a complete revenue breakdown by product.[17] [17]

Geographic presence

Texas Capital Bancshares is headquartered in Dallas and has primary banking offices in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. It also leases facilities in California and New York, including some full-service banking centers; loan and deposit operations and its customer call center are located in Richardson, Texas.[1][20]

Texas is the company’s central market, while specialized business lines serve clients regionally and nationwide.[21][22] At December 31, 2025, Texas represented 52.4% of commercial real estate loans and other states 47.6%; this breakdown is specific to commercial real estate lending, not the company’s total loan portfolio.[23] [1]

Business segments

Texas Capital Bancshares reports one aggregated operating and reportable segment: all banking divisions and subsidiaries are aggregated because they meet the company’s criteria and are reviewed collectively by its chief operating decision maker. The segment serves primarily commercial clients with company-wide products and services, processes, and platforms; resource allocation and performance assessment are based on net income.[24][25]

Accordingly, 100% of the company is represented by this single reported segment, but the company does not disclose separate segment-level revenue, net interest income, or asset contribution percentages. Texas Capital Bank and Texas Capital Securities are identified as principal operating subsidiaries, not as separate reportable segments.[25] [24]

Company history

Texas Capital Bancshares was incorporated in Delaware in 1996; its bank was chartered in Dallas in October 1997 as Resource Bank, N.A., renamed Texas Capital Bank, N.A. in December 1998, and began operations in 1998. Jody Grant is credited with launching the bank.[28]

The company went public in 2003.[4] In 2019, it agreed to a proposed all-stock merger with Independent Bank Group, but the two companies terminated the agreement in May 2020 before it closed.[31][32] In 2021, the bank converted from a national to a Texas state charter, and the company announced a strategic plan to broaden its financial-services offerings and Texas coverage.[29][33] [28]
