Tenaris S.A. is a Luxembourg-based manufacturer of seamless and welded steel pipes, serving primarily the energy industry. Its products include casing and tubing for oil and gas wells and line pipe; it also provides technical, digital and supply-chain services. The company’s stated strategy is to supply integrated products and services to energy and other industries while developing applications for lower-carbon energy.[1][2][3]

Products & services
Tenaris produces seamless and welded steel pipes for energy and industrial uses. Its oil country tubular goods (OCTG) include casing, which supports well walls, and tubing, which carries oil and gas to the surface. It also makes line pipe for transporting hydrocarbons, mechanical and structural pipes, and cold-drawn tubes used in boilers, heat exchangers and automotive applications. Seamless pipe is particularly suited to high-pressure, high-stress and corrosive environments.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14]
The company supplies TenarisHydril premium connections for joining casing and tubing in demanding wells, including high-temperature or high-pressure environments. Its Dopeless® threaded connections can arrive ready for use without field application of thread compounds. Other products include coiled tubing for drilling and well workovers and sucker rods used in oil extraction. Tenaris also provides threading, finishing and coating services. Through Rig Direct®, it coordinates pipe supply from mill to rig, including inventory management, deliveries, technical assistance and digital pipe traceability. Tenaris S.A. has a Luxembourg address and manufacturing operations across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Its seamless-pipe production and processing facilities are in North and South America, Europe and Asia; welded-pipe production facilities are in North and South America and Saudi Arabia. The company also identifies manufacturing businesses in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Romania, Saudi Arabia and the United States.[21][4][22]
In 2025, North America accounted for approximately 47.7% of net sales ($5.71 billion), followed by Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa at 24.9% ($2.99 billion), South America at 19.9% ($2.39 billion), and Europe at 7.5% ($0.89 billion). These are regional figures; the three markets in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa grouping are not reported separately.[23]
Tenaris’s facilities extend beyond pipe mills: it identifies premium-joint production in countries including Canada, China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States, and pipe-coating plants across the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Nigeria.[4] [21][4][22][23][23][23][23][23]
Business segments
Tenaris reports **Tubes** as its sole reportable operating segment. It produces and sells steel tubular products and related services, principally for oil and gas drilling, transportation and processing, as well as industrial applications. Activities grouped as **Other**, rather than reported as a separate segment, include sucker rods, coiled tubing, plumbing and construction tubes, oilfield and hydraulic-fracturing services, and surplus energy and raw materials.[24][25][26]
In 2025, Tubes generated $11.4 billion, or approximately **95%** of net sales; Other generated $581 million, or approximately **5%**. Within Tubes, oil and gas accounted for $10.17 billion (about 89% of Tubes sales), oil and gas processing plants $557 million (about 5%), and industrial, power and other applications $671 million (about 6%). Company history
Tenaris traces its roots to Siderca, a steel-pipe business formed in Argentina in 1948. Its expansion included investments in Mexico’s Tamsa and Italy’s Dalmine. Tenaris S.A. was established in Luxembourg in 2001, and its shares began trading in New York and Mexico in December 2002, followed by Italy the next day.[29][30][31]
Later acquisitions included Maverick Tube and Hydril, the latter acquired in 2007. In January 2020, Tenaris acquired IPSCO, adding a U.S. producer of seamless and welded pipe.[32][33][34] [29][30][31][32][33][34]
