TE Connectivity is an industrial technology company that designs and manufactures connectivity and sensor solutions. Its products transmit power, signals and data in applications ranging from transportation and energy networks to factory automation and data centers. The company states that its purpose is to help create a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future.[1]
Its operations are organized into Transportation Solutions and Industrial Solutions. Products include connectors, terminals, sensors, relays, wire and cable, and medical components. TE operates across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia–Pacific. In fiscal 2025, it reported $17.3 billion in net sales, approximately 93,000 employees worldwide—including contract employees—and 105 principal manufacturing centers. Products & services
TE Connectivity makes terminals and connector systems for transmitting power, signal and data, alongside sensors, heat-shrink tubing, relays and application tooling. Its transportation products serve automotive systems—including vehicle electronics, powertrains, batteries and charging—and commercial vehicles such as heavy trucks, construction equipment and buses. The AMP+ range includes high-voltage connector systems for hybrid and electric vehicles, while DEUTSCH connectors are designed for demanding environments involving vibration and exposure to the elements.[3][9][10][11][12]
Its industrial portfolio adds wire and cable, filters and interventional medical components to those product categories. Applications include data-center and wireless-network infrastructure; factory controls, robotics and building automation; aerospace, defense and marine equipment; and insulation, protection and connection systems for electric-power networks. Medical products support diagnostic, surgical and minimally invasive procedures, with related design, prototyping and manufacturing services. TE also offers sensors for measurements including pressure, temperature, position, force and vibration, as well as fiber-optic components and antennas.[4][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21]
In fiscal 2025, Transportation Solutions accounted for 54% of net sales and Industrial Solutions for 46%. These are segment shares, not revenue shares for individual products such as connectors or sensors.[22] [3][9][10][4][13][14][15][16][17][22][11][12][18][19][20][21]
Geographic presence
TE Connectivity’s principal executive offices are in Galway, Ireland. Its operations span the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia–Pacific. At the end of fiscal 2025, it had 105 principal manufacturing facilities: 41 in the Americas, 38 in EMEA and 26 in Asia–Pacific, including 19 principal sites in China.[23][8][24]
In fiscal 2025, Asia–Pacific generated $6.55 billion of net sales, or 38% of the total; EMEA generated $5.74 billion, or 33%; and the Americas generated $4.97 billion, or 29%. Reported country-level sales included $4.61 billion in China and $4.41 billion in the United States. The company had approximately 93,000 employees worldwide, including 13,000 contract employees: about 34,000 were in Asia–Pacific, 34,000 in EMEA and 25,000 in the Americas.[25][26][5] [23][8][8][8][8][24][25][25][25][25][25][26][26][26][5]
Business segments
TE Connectivity reports two business segments. Transportation Solutions generated approximately 54% of fiscal 2025 net sales ($9.39 billion). It supplies connectivity and sensor technologies—including terminals and connectors, sensors, heat-shrink tubing, relays and application tooling—for automotive, commercial transportation and sensor markets. Those markets accounted for approximately 75%, 15% and 10% of the segment’s sales, respectively.[3][7][27][28][29]
Industrial Solutions generated approximately 46% of fiscal 2025 net sales ($7.87 billion). It supplies products that connect and distribute power, data and signals across digital data networks, automation and connected living, aerospace and defense and marine, energy, and medical markets. Its products include connectors, interventional medical components, wire and cable, relays and filters.[4][7] TE adopted this two-segment structure in fiscal 2025, moving businesses previously reported in Communications Solutions into Industrial Solutions and realigning certain other businesses and product lines.[2] [3][7][7][27][28][29][4][2]
Company history
TE Connectivity traces its roots to AMP, a connector company founded by Uncas A. Whitaker in 1941, and Raychem, a materials company founded by Paul Cook in 1957. Tyco International acquired both businesses in 1999, bringing them into its electronics operations.[30][31][32][33]
Tyco Electronics became an independent, publicly traded company when it separated from Tyco International in June 2007. It adopted the name TE Connectivity Ltd. in 2011. The company subsequently expanded its sensor business by acquiring Measurement Specialties in 2014, then sold its broadband network solutions business to CommScope in 2015.[34][35][36][37] [30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37]
