StoneX reports financial performance by business segment rather than by individual product. For FY2025, net operating revenue was $769 million for Commercial, $857 million for Institutional, $282 million for Self-Directed/Retail and $202 million for Payments; the latest 2026 figures available in the cited reporting were for the nine months ended June 30, 2026: $1,052.9 million, $952.0 million, $198.1 million and $162.9 million, respectively.[19][20] [3]

Geographic presence

StoneX Group’s FY2026 third-quarter filing reports revenue for five geographic regions for the nine months ended June 30, 2026. Of $125.0 billion in total revenue, $113.1 billion (90.5%) was attributed to the Middle East and Asia, $7.7 billion (6.2%) to the United States, $3.5 billion (2.8%) to Europe, $570.8 million (0.5%) to South America, and $31.5 million to Other. On an operating-revenue basis, the regional mix was different: the United States contributed $3.17 billion (70.8%) of $4.47 billion, Europe $828.1 million (18.5%), the Middle East and Asia $306.8 million (6.9%), South America $138.0 million (3.1%), and Other $31.6 million (0.7%). The filing does not provide country-level revenue; total revenue and operating revenue are distinct measures.[21]

The FY2025 Form 10-K lists operations in the United States and foreign jurisdictions including Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Mexico, Nigeria, Dubai, China, India, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, and Poland. It also identifies wholly owned subsidiaries in the Netherlands, the Cayman Islands, and Bermuda that have no offices or employees there. StoneX reports serving clients in more than 180 countries, including commercial, institutional and payments clients and retail accounts; this indicates customer reach, not a distribution of revenue or offices.[22]

The FY2025 10-K reports more than 5,400 employees but does not provide a geographic employee breakdown. StoneX describes its office network as comprising more than 70 offices worldwide, and its company overview says the network spans six continents.[22] [21]

Business segments

StoneX reports four operating segments, principally organized by client type: Commercial, Institutional, Self-Directed/Retail and Payments.[28] Commercial serves commercial entities with commodity and financial risk management, consulting, execution and clearing, brokerage, market intelligence, physical trading, financing and logistics.[29][30] Institutional provides institutional equity and fixed-income services, global futures and securities execution and clearing, prime brokerage, investment banking and research.[31] Self-Directed/Retail provides retail access to global markets, including spot FX, CFDs and physical precious metals, as well as independent wealth management.[32] Payments provides customized payment, technology and treasury services, including cross-border and local-currency payments.[33]

Using net operating revenue (NOR), the four segments generated a combined $2,109.4 million in FY2025. Their approximate shares were Institutional, 40.6% ($856.9 million); Commercial, 36.4% ($768.7 million); Self-Directed/Retail, 13.3% ($281.6 million); and Payments, 9.6% ($202.2 million). These percentages are calculated from the four segments’ combined NOR and exclude Corporate, which reported negative NOR.[5][34] For the nine months ended June 30, 2026, the approximate mix of four-segment NOR was Commercial 44.5%, Institutional 40.2%, Self-Directed/Retail 8.4% and Payments 6.9%.[20] [28]

Company history

StoneX traces its origins to 1924, when Saul Stone founded Saul Stone & Company. In 2003, new management took control of International Assets and shifted its focus toward specialized financial markets. In 2009, International Assets Holding Corporation and FCStone Group completed a merger of equals; the combined company adopted the name INTL FCStone Inc. in 2011.[4]

The company expanded its capabilities through acquisitions, including G.X. Clarke & Co. in 2015 and GAIN Capital Holdings in 2020. Following shareholder approval, INTL FCStone adopted the StoneX Group Inc. name in 2020. In 2025, it completed acquisitions including R.J. O’Brien & Associates and The Benchmark Company.[38]

In December 2024, StoneX announced a leadership transition: Sean O’Connor was to become Executive Vice-Chairman and Philip Smith Group CEO; the company’s 2025 Form 10-K lists O’Connor as Executive Chairman and Smith as CEO.[43][44] [39]
