SSR MINING INC.

Updated

Overview

SSR Mining Inc. is a precious-metals mining company that operates, acquires, explores and develops mineral properties. Its products include gold doré and copper, silver, lead and zinc concentrates.[1]

Its portfolio spans the United States, Canada, Argentina and Türkiye, with mines and projects including Marigold, Cripple Creek & Victor, Seabee, Puna and Çöpler. Çöpler operations had ceased by the end of 2025, so the company’s geographic footprint includes an asset whose operating status differs from its producing mines.[2][3]

SSR Mining describes its purpose as “to create value & leave a legacy through responsible and sustainable operations.” For FY2025, it reported revenue of $1.630 billion. Its year-end filing listed approximately 2,900 full-time employees and 1,900 contract employees.[4] [1]

Products & services

SSR Mining produces gold, silver, lead and zinc. Its Marigold and Seabee operations produce gold doré bars for shipment to third-party refineries. In 2025, reported gold production was 153,535 ounces at Marigold and 54,986 ounces at Seabee; the company also reported 124,557 ounces at Cripple Creek & Victor.[7]

At Puna, ore from the Chinchillas mine is processed at the Pirquitas facilities into silver-lead and zinc concentrates for shipment to international smelters. For 2025, Puna reported production of 9.814 million ounces of silver, 45.881 million pounds of lead and 4.120 million pounds of zinc. The operation reported recoveries of 96.0% for silver, 93.2% for lead and 40.9% for zinc; these are processing metrics, not concentrate specifications.[7]

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, SSR reported production across continuing operations of 157,915 ounces of gold, 3.399 million ounces of silver, 15.293 million pounds of lead and 1.987 million pounds of zinc. The reviewed reporting gives production and sales quantities but no product-revenue percentages or product-mix percentages; no separate product-related service offering was identified.[13] [7]

Geographic presence

As of Q2 2026, SSR Mining’s operating footprint comprised four mines in three countries: Marigold in Nevada and Cripple Creek & Victor in Colorado, United States; Seabee in Saskatchewan, Canada; and Puna in Jujuy Province, Argentina. Çöpler in Türkiye was no longer included in the company’s continuing operations.[14][15]

For 2025, reported revenue shares by mine segment were Marigold 33%, Cripple Creek & Victor 28%, Seabee 11%, Puna 28%, and Çöpler 0%. These figures are segment contributions, not a breakdown by customer or sales destination; the two U.S. mines together accounted for 61% of reported revenue.[2]

The company lists corporate offices in Denver, Colorado, and Toronto, Ontario, and site contacts in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina.[16] Its 2025 sustainability reporting describes 2,300 full-time employees and 1,900 contractors across the United States, Canada, and Argentina, without providing country-level headcounts.[17] [14]

Business segments

SSR Mining reports five mine-site operating and reportable segments. By FY2025 revenue contribution, they were Marigold 33%, Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) 28%, Puna 28%, Seabee 11%, and Çöpler 0%; these are rounded revenue shares, not production shares.[2]

Marigold is a gold mine in Nevada’s Battle Mountain district.[18] CC&V is an open-pit gold mine in Colorado, using valley-leach facilities to produce gold doré.[19] Seabee is an underground gold-mine complex in Saskatchewan that produces gold doré.[20] Puna is a silver-lead-zinc mine complex in Argentina, processing ore at Pirquitas into silver-lead and zinc concentrates.[21] Çöpler is the fifth reported segment; it had no FY2025 revenue.[2] [2]

Company history

SSR Mining traces its predecessor-company history to 1946 and was incorporated in British Columbia in 2005. Silver Standard Resources achieved commercial production at the Pirquitas silver mine in Argentina in December 2009. It expanded its producing operations with the 2014 acquisition of the Marigold mine in Nevada and the 2016 acquisition of Claude Resources, which added the Seabee gold operation in Saskatchewan.[22]

The company adopted the name SSR Mining Inc. in August 2017. That year it formed a joint venture combining Pirquitas with the Chinchillas project in Argentina; Chinchillas reached commercial production in December 2018. In September 2020, SSR Mining completed a merger of equals with Alacer Gold, adding the Çöpler operation in Türkiye. In June 2026, it completed the sale of Çöpler.[26] [22]
