SKYWORKS SOLUTIONS, INC.

Updated

Overview

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. develops and supplies analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products, with a focus on radio-frequency, connectivity and related technologies. Its product portfolio includes amplifiers, filters, front-end modules, timing components and power-management products used in wireless and other electronic systems.[1][2]

The company serves markets including mobile communications, automotive, aerospace and defense, broadband, industrial, medical and connected-home applications. It operates globally, with engineering, manufacturing, sales and service facilities in Asia, Europe and North America.[1][3] Skyworks describes its vision as “empowering the wireless networking revolution.” [4]

Skyworks reported approximately 10,000 employees, with a workforce across 17 countries.[5][6] [1]

Products & services

Skyworks’ product portfolio includes radio-frequency and analog components used in wireless systems, including amplifiers, antenna tuners, front-end modules, switches, low-noise amplifiers, attenuators, mixers, modulators, demodulators, detectors and synthesizers. Antenna tuners adjust antenna aperture and impedance across frequencies; amplifiers strengthen signals for transmission; and front-end modules combine functions in a package tailored to an application’s performance and cost requirements. Its filtering products include SAW, TC-SAW and BAW filters, and its integration technologies include proprietary shielding and 3-D die stacking.[7]

For 5G and other wireless applications, the company lists the Sky5® platform, MIMO and diversity-receive modules, ultra-high-band modules, timing devices, digital power isolators and small-cell solutions. Other named offerings include Wireless ASoC radio ICs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless audio; automotive tuners, digital radios and data receivers for infotainment; ProSLIC® subscriber-line interface circuits; System-in-Package products integrating functions such as modem, RF front end, filtering, matching and timing; and timing products such as clock generators, oscillators, jitter attenuators and buffers. Supported technologies and standards cited include cellular/5G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, LoRa®, Thread®, Wi-Sun® and Zigbee®.[2]

Skyworks provides technical collaboration with customers and reference-design partners, including work from early program design, applications-engineering support and assistance aligned to customer product road maps. Its components and subsystems are designed into equipment made by OEM and ODM customers.[21] The FY2025 filing reports one operating segment and does not disclose revenue percentages by product family; the FY2026 third-quarter filing likewise says its semiconductor offerings are not separately reported by product.[25][26] [7]

Geographic presence

Skyworks Solutions’ headquarters are in Irvine, California. Its worldwide engineering, manufacturing, sales and service footprint spans North America, Asia and Europe. Principal facilities include filter-manufacturing sites in Singapore and Osaka, Japan; manufacturing and office operations in Mexicali, Mexico; and U.S. sites in Woburn, Massachusetts, Newbury Park and Irvine, California, and Austin, Texas.[27]

At October 3, 2025, net property, plant and equipment was located mainly in Japan ($461.0 million), Mexico ($264.0 million), the United States ($226.8 million) and Singapore ($215.0 million), with $27.8 million in the rest of the world.[29] The company reports approximately 10,000 employees in 17 countries; a country-by-country employee breakdown was not provided.[4]

For fiscal 2025, reported net revenue was $3,157.1 million in the United States (77.3% of total), $259.1 million in Taiwan (6.3%), $254.2 million in China (6.2%), $190.1 million in South Korea (4.7%), $185.8 million in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (4.5%), and $40.6 million in other Asia-Pacific markets (1.0%). Percentages are calculated from the reported geographic revenue figures and total revenue of $4,086.9 million.[30] [27]

Business segments

Skyworks Solutions reports one operating and reportable segment, covering its integrated semiconductor business; accordingly, that segment represents 100% of reported FY2025 revenue. The company does not report Mobile and Broad Markets as separate formal segments.[25]

Management also discusses its business in two market categories. **Mobile** serves mobile devices, including smartphones; **Broad Markets** encompasses markets beyond mobile, including automotive, home and factory automation, data centers, solar, wireless infrastructure, aerospace and defense, medical, and smart energy.[31]

For Q3 FY2026, management said Broad Markets accounted for approximately 43% of sales and Mobile approximately 57%. These are quarterly business-category shares, not a full-year FY2025 segment split.[32][33] [25]

Company history

Skyworks’ roots date to 1962, when George S. Kariotis founded Alpha Industries as a microwave-components business. On June 25, 2002, Alpha combined with Conexant Systems’ wireless communications business; Alpha changed its name to Skyworks Solutions, Inc., and the combined company began operations as Skyworks.[35]

The company expanded its wireless and radio-frequency capabilities through acquisitions: it acquired SiGe Semiconductor in 2011 and completed its acquisition of power-management company Advanced Analogic Technologies in January 2012.[37][38] Skyworks formed a joint venture with Panasonic for SAW filter products in 2014 and acquired Panasonic’s remaining stake in 2016.[39][40] In 2016, Liam K. Griffin succeeded David J. Aldrich as CEO; Philip Brace succeeded Griffin in February 2025.[41][42] In October 2025, Skyworks and Qorvo announced a proposed combination; it remained subject to approvals, with closing anticipated in 2027.[43] [35]
