Overview

Simpson Manufacturing Co., Inc. is a building-products company that designs, engineers, manufactures and markets structural solutions for wood and concrete construction, primarily through its Simpson Strong-Tie business. Its products include connectors, fasteners, truss plates and fastening systems for wood construction, as well as adhesives, anchors, specialty chemicals and reinforcing materials for concrete. The company’s stated mission is “to deliver innovative solutions that help people design and build safer, stronger structures.” [1]

The company serves customers across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, with operations spanning the United States and Canada, European markets, and countries including Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan and Vietnam.[4] In fiscal 2025, net sales were approximately $2.33 billion; at December 31, 2025, it had approximately 5,545 employees worldwide.[5] Simpson says it has continuously manufactured structural connectors since 1956.[8] [1]

Products & services

Simpson Manufacturing’s product portfolio includes more than 16,000 standard and custom wood-construction products and more than 3,000 concrete-construction products, designed to connect, anchor, support, strengthen, protect or repair structures and help resist seismic, wind and gravity forces.[8] Wood products include metal connectors such as holdowns and truss connector plates; nails, screws and fastening systems; and lateral-force-resisting systems including prefabricated shearwalls, continuous-rod tiedowns and wall bracing.[10] Named examples include Strong-Wall shearwalls, Strong-Drive SDWS structural screws and Quik Drive auto-feed screw-driving systems.[13]

Concrete and masonry products include adhesives and mechanical anchors for fastening to concrete, brick, masonry and steel; specialty chemicals, carbide drill bits and powder-actuated tools; and repair and protection products such as coatings, sealers, mortars, fiberglass and fiber-reinforced polymer systems, and asphalt products.[16] Examples include Titen HD screw anchors and SET-3G epoxy anchoring adhesive, which the company describes for use in cracked and uncracked concrete.[19][20]

Services include field support, technical assistance and training, engineering support for product selection and unusual applications, and support for truss design and specifications. The company also offers software and digital tools for product specification, selection and use, including truss-design and construction-related software.[8] Wood products represented 84.7% and concrete products 15.1% of net sales for the six months ended June 30, 2026; for full-year 2025, they represented 84.4% and 15.5%, respectively.[23] [8]

North America primarily covers the United States and Canada; Europe covers its European operations; and Asia/Pacific includes operations across Asia, the South Pacific, and the Middle East, including Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam.[31]

Using FY2025 net sales, the latest completed-year basis, North America contributed approximately 77.8% of sales, Europe 21.4%, and Asia/Pacific 0.8%.[33] The company also presents Wood Products and Concrete Products as product categories across its geographic segments, rather than as additional reportable segments.[31][34]

The latest available filing is for Q2 2026; FY2025 is the latest complete fiscal year used for the segment contribution percentages.[35][36] [31]

Company history

Simpson’s roots date to 1914, when Walter C. Simpson established a wooden-window-screen business in Oakland, California. His son, Barclay “Barc” Simpson, took over in 1947; in 1956, Barc made a joist hanger for a neighbor, marking the beginning of the structural-connector business that became Simpson Strong-Tie.[37][38]

The company became publicly traded in 1994 and expanded internationally and into adjacent construction products through acquisitions, including UK businesses Furfix Products and Easy Arches in 1999, Danish connector maker BMF in 2001, and Quik Drive in 2004.[39] In 2022 it completed the acquisition of ETANCO Group, broadening its European construction-fixing and fastening business; Mike Olosky succeeded Karen Colonias as CEO on January 1, 2023.[43][44] [45]
