Products & services

Signet’s products include bridal jewelry—engagement, wedding and anniversary pieces, predominantly diamond jewelry—as well as fashion jewelry, watches and other merchandise. Kay sells bridal jewelry, diamond solitaires, fashion jewelry and watches; Zales offers fine jewelry such as everyday essentials, diamond classics and personalized pieces. Blue Nile and James Allen offer engagement rings, wedding bands, necklaces, earrings and other fine jewelry, including natural and lab-grown diamonds. Bridal products accounted for 49% of FY2026 merchandise sales, and products containing lab-grown diamonds accounted for approximately 27%.[9]

Related services include jewelry repair and extended repair plans, with covered work such as ring sizing, polishing, rhodium plating, earring and chain repair, engraving, and resetting diamonds or gemstones. Signet also offers fine-watch warranties, chargeable repairs, custom work, insurance and appraisals; Banter provides piercing services, including hollow-needle facial piercing in select markets, and virtual styling. Certain North American brands offer lifetime diamond guarantees subject to certified six-month inspections; a similar guarantee applies to color gemstones.[15] [9]

Business segments

For fiscal 2026, Signet Jewelers reported three business segments: North America, International and Other. It also provides sales breakdowns by brand, channel and product, which are separate from its reportable segments.[24]

North America encompasses US and Canadian operations, including physical stores and online sales. Its brands include Kay, Zales, Jared, Diamonds Direct, Banter by Piercing Pagoda, Rocksbox, James Allen and Blue Nile in the US, and Peoples Jewellers in Canada. The segment generated $6,363.6 million, approximately 93.4% of consolidated sales.[25]

International comprises stores and online operations in the UK and Republic of Ireland, primarily under the H.Samuel and Ernest Jones brands. It generated $410.4 million, approximately 6.0% of consolidated sales. Other primarily includes subsidiaries that purchase rough diamonds and convert them into polished stones; it generated $39.6 million, approximately 0.6% of consolidated sales. Consolidated sales were $6,813.6 million.[28] [24]

Company history

Signet’s history brings together two British jewelry businesses. H.Samuel traces its origins to Harriet Samuel’s clockmaking business, taken over in 1862, and opened its first retail store in Preston in 1890. The Ratners jewelry business began with a shop opened by Leslie Ratner in 1949.[30][31]

During the 1980s and 1990s, Ratners expanded through acquisitions, including H.Samuel, Ernest Jones, US retailer Sterling and Kay Jewelers; the group later adopted the Signet name.[32] In 2008, Signet completed a reorganization that made Signet Jewelers Limited the parent company and moved its primary listing to the New York Stock Exchange.[33]

A major expansion followed in 2014, when Signet completed its acquisition of Zale Corporation, adding brands including Zales and Peoples Jewellers.[34] Signet added online jeweler James Allen through its 2017 acquisition of R2Net, then acquired Diamonds Direct in 2021 and Blue Nile in 2022.[35] In 2024, J.K. Symancyk succeeded Virginia Drosos as CEO.[38] [30]
