Products & services

Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) include ChoiceLease full-service leasing, commercial vehicle rental, SelectCare maintenance and related services, fuel services, and sales of used trucks, tractors and trailers. ChoiceLease bundles services with the vehicle lease, while commercial rental provides short-term fleet capacity; other offerings include maintenance, technology support, and services for asset performance, compliance and safety [7][8]. In 2025, FMS revenue comprised $3.510 billion from ChoiceLease, $937 million from commercial rental, $680 million from SelectCare and other, and $718 million from fuel services; fuel services represented 12% of FMS revenue [9].

Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) offers port-to-door logistics, including dedicated and multi-client distribution, transportation management, brokerage, e-commerce and last-mile delivery, contract manufacturing and packing, and other value-added services. These services may be provided individually, in combination, or as integrated solutions [10]. Its e-commerce and last-mile operations receive, pick, pack and ship smaller goods; handle receipt, assembly and final-delivery coordination for bulky items; and can include minor installation, disposal, routing and appointment scheduling through RyderView 2.0. E-commerce and last-mile services accounted for 18% of SCS revenue in 2025 [11]. SCS revenue that year was $5.459 billion, including $1.299 billion in omnichannel retail, $1.061 billion in automotive, $1.187 billion in consumer packaged goods, and $544 million in industrial and other; subcontracted transportation and fuel contributed $1.368 billion [12].

Dedicated Transportation Solutions provides customer-dedicated vehicles and professional drivers, supported by services such as routing and scheduling, fleet design, safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, and transportation technology and communications. The offering is designed to address private-fleet needs including driver recruitment and retention and regulatory and workers’ compensation requirements [13]. In 2025, reported segment revenue was $5.845 billion for FMS, $5.459 billion for SCS, and $2.343 billion for DTS [14]. [7]

Geographic presence

Ryder System’s operations are concentrated in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In 2025, its Supply Chain Solutions business managed 524 locations across the three countries, including 246 customer locations; nearly all were leased. Ryder also identified administrative logistics centers in Novi, Michigan, and Fort Worth, Texas.[15][16]

Ryder reported approximately 23,600 U.S.–Mexico border crossings per month and about 5,000 monthly crossings managed by its Canadian operations.[16] At December 31, 2025, long-lived assets were $9.478 billion in the U.S., $605 million in Canada and $83 million in Mexico—about 93.2%, 5.9% and 0.8%, respectively, of the $10.166 billion total.[17]

The available 2025 reporting does not provide revenue by country or region, or an employee breakdown by geography. Ryder’s corporate fact sheet describes its operations as spanning the U.S., Canada and Mexico and reports more than 50,000 employees, about 800 maintenance locations and approximately 320 warehouses across North America, without allocating those figures by country.[18][19] [15]

Business segments

Ryder System reports three business segments: Fleet Management Solutions (FMS), Supply Chain Solutions (SCS), and Dedicated Transportation Solutions (DTS). FMS provides fleet services including full-service and flexible-maintenance leasing, commercial vehicle rental, maintenance, technology support, fuel services, and used-vehicle sales [7]. SCS provides logistics-management services designed to optimize customers’ supply chains, supported by technology and engineering [20]. DTS offers integrated dedicated transportation, including equipment, maintenance, professional drivers, administration, and related services tailored to customers’ needs [20].

For fiscal 2025, operating revenue was $5.127 billion for FMS, $4.091 billion for SCS, and $1.841 billion for DTS—approximately 46.4%, 37.0%, and 16.6%, respectively, of the three segments’ combined $11.059 billion. Ryder defines operating revenue as segment total revenue excluding fuel and subcontracted transportation [21]. [7]

Company history

Ryder began in Miami in 1933, when James A. Ryder started a truck-hauling business with a used Ford Model A; the business subsequently grew into truck leasing.[25][26]

In 2013, Robert E. Sanchez became chair and CEO.[27][28] From 2018 through 2023, Ryder expanded its e-commerce fulfillment and warehousing operations through acquisitions including MXD Group, Whiplash, Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System, Dotcom Distribution, and Impact Fulfillment Services.[29] In 2024, it completed the acquisition of Cardinal Logistics, expanding its dedicated transportation operations.[33] The 2025 annual report lists John J. Diez as president and COO and Cristina Gallo-Aquino as CFO, both in those roles since 2025.[27][28] [27]
