Overview

Rithm Capital Corp. is a publicly traded, diversified real-estate and financial-services company. Its businesses span mortgage origination and servicing, residential and commercial real-estate lending and investment, mortgage servicing rights, structured credit and alternative asset management. The company describes its purpose as generating long-term investor value by identifying, acquiring, managing and enhancing real-estate-related and other financial assets.[1] Its core reporting segments are Origination and Servicing, Residential Transitional Lending, Asset Management, Investment Portfolio and Commercial Real Estate.[2]

Headquartered in New York City, Rithm also lists offices in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Toronto and Abu Dhabi.[1] As scale indicators, it reported $54.1 billion in consolidated assets at June 30, 2026, and $2.667 billion in revenue for the six months ended that date.[3][4] An external employee-data source reports 7,240 employees at year-end 2025.[5] Rithm traces its origins to 2013, when it began as a mortgage-servicing-rights-focused business under Fortress Investment Group.[6] [1]

Products & services

Rithm Capital’s Newrez business offers residential mortgage origination and servicing. Its mortgage products include fixed- and adjustable-rate, FHA, VA, specialty, renovation and assumable loans; home-equity offerings include HELOCs, home-equity loans and cash-out refinancing. Newrez generally retains servicing rights on loans it originates for sale or securitization, and its customer tools include HomeHub for loan and home-value information, payments and homeownership options.[7]

Through Genesis Capital, Rithm provides short-term residential property financing for acquisition, rehabilitation, construction, development and investment. Genesis loans typically have initial terms of less than 18 months, subject to extension; named programs include construction, fix-and-flip, bridge, rental-hold, one-time-close and revolving-credit-line loans.[11]

Rithm’s asset-management services include investment management and advisory strategies in private and opportunistic credit, fund-liquidity solutions, real estate and insurance-related investments. Its investment portfolio includes real-estate securities, single-family rentals, residential mortgages and consumer loans. Newrez has also announced plans to deploy ValonOS, an AI-native mortgage-servicing platform.[14]

For FY2025, reported segment revenue was $3,134.954 million for Origination & Servicing, $301.594 million for Residential Transitional Lending, $698.635 million for Asset Management and $444.549 million for Investment Portfolio, out of $4,590.228 million consolidated revenue. These amounts represented approximately 68.3%, 6.6%, 15.2% and 9.7%, respectively; percentages are calculated from the reported figures.[18] [7]

Geographic presence

Rithm Capital’s principal executive offices are at 799 Broadway, New York, New York. Its mortgage-related portfolios have substantial U.S. state-level exposure: as of December 31, 2025, California represented 16.5% of UPB underlying Excess MSRs and MSRs, 11.6% of originated Newrez mortgage loans, and 36.8% of Genesis residential transition loans. California—primarily the Los Angeles area—was Genesis’s largest state concentration; Florida accounted for a further 12.0% of Genesis active-loan UPB. These are portfolio collateral concentrations, not revenue shares.[19]

Newrez, a Rithm subsidiary, describes a nationwide network of more than 130 locations. Its listed Direct-to-Consumer team hubs include Fort Washington, Pennsylvania; Columbia, Maryland; Coppell, Texas; Tempe, Arizona; Troy, Michigan; and Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as remote roles. The cited company disclosures do not provide revenue by geographic region or employee distribution by location.[22][23] [19]

Business segments

Rithm Capital’s latest reported segmentation, for the six months ended June 30, 2026, comprises five reportable segments: Origination and Servicing, focused on mortgage servicing and residential mortgage origination and sales; Residential Transitional Lending, which originates and manages short-term loans for residential construction, development, or investment; Asset Management, which earns management and incentive fees; Investment Portfolio, which holds real-estate securities, single-family rental properties, residential mortgage and consumer loans, and related investments; and Commercial Real Estate, which owns, operates, and manages commercial properties, with revenue primarily from rents and property-related income.[2][24] By H1 2026 revenue, their approximate contributions were 57.5%, 7.2%, 11.7%, 9.7%, and 13.8%, respectively.[25] Corporate is shown separately as a reconciling category, not a reportable segment, and contributed about 0.2% of revenue.[26][25]

In the 2025 annual segment presentation, revenue contributions were approximately 68.3% Origination and Servicing, 6.6% Residential Transitional Lending, 15.2% Asset Management, and 9.7% Investment Portfolio; Corporate contributed about 0.2%.[18] Commercial real estate activities were included in Asset Management in that presentation. In Q1 2026, Rithm moved those activities into a new Commercial Real Estate segment and revised its segment composition; therefore, the FY2025 and H1 2026 segment shares are not directly like-for-like.[27] [2]
