Renasant Corporation is a Mississippi-based bank holding company whose subsidiaries provide commercial and retail banking, lending, mortgage, wealth-management and fiduciary services. Its banking operations are concentrated in the southeastern United States, while subsidiary Republic Business Credit provides factoring and asset-based lending nationwide.[1][2] Renasant traces its roots to a bank established in Mississippi in 1904; the corporation was incorporated in 1982.[2] Renasant Bank’s stated mission emphasizes meeting customers’ financial needs, creating security and opportunity for employees, serving its communities and providing attractive returns to shareholders.[3]

The company reported approximately $27 billion in assets and 279 banking, lending, mortgage and wealth-management offices in its second-quarter 2026 release.[4] In fiscal 2025, it reported $803.969 million in net interest income and $181.880 million in noninterest income.[5] The company reported more than 3,000 full-time-equivalent employees as of December 31, 2025.[6] [1]

The cited filings do not provide a full product-by-product revenue percentage mix.[13] [7]

Geographic presence

As of June 30, 2026, Renasant reported 279 banking, lending, mortgage, and wealth-management offices throughout the Southeast. Its stated footprint spans Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee; the company does not provide a state-by-state office count in these sources.[4][19]

Renasant’s Republic Business Credit subsidiary offers factoring and asset-based lending nationwide, extending that business beyond the company’s regional office footprint.[2] The cited reporting presents results by operating segment rather than geographic region, and does not provide revenue percentages by state or region.[20] [2]

Business segments

Renasant reports two segments: Community Banks and Wealth Management. Community Banks provides banking and financial services to individuals and businesses, including deposits, lending, factoring, leasing and treasury management. Wealth Management provides fiduciary, trust, custodial, accounting and money-management services, as well as investment products and services.[21]

In FY2025, Community Banks generated approximately $983.3 million in segment revenue and Wealth Management approximately $35.5 million, based on net interest income plus noninterest income. These represent about 96.5% and 3.5%, respectively, of their combined segment revenue.[25] Insurance is no longer a reportable segment following the sale of its insurance businesses.[21] [21]

Company history

Renasant traces its origins to 1904, when The Peoples Bank & Trust Company opened in Tupelo, Mississippi. The company expanded across northern Mississippi over the following decades through new branches and acquisitions.[19] In 2004, it moved beyond Mississippi by acquiring Renasant Bancshares near Memphis, and later that year its bank operations adopted the Renasant Bank name.[26][27]

Over the next decade, acquisitions broadened Renasant’s reach in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Key milestones included Capital Bancorp in 2007, FDIC-assisted acquisitions in 2010 and 2011, the First M&F merger in 2013, Heritage Financial Group in 2015, Metropolitan BancGroup in 2017 and Brand Group Holdings in 2018.[28]

On April 1, 2025, Renasant completed its merger with The First Bancshares, whose bank operated 116 locations across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.[35][36] Kevin D. Chapman became President and CEO on May 1, 2025, while C. Mitchell Waycaster continued as Executive Vice Chairman.[37] [30]
