Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (Reckitt) is a consumer health and hygiene company whose products span self-care, germ protection, household care and intimate wellness. Its brands include Nurofen, Strepsils, Dettol, Lysol, Finish and Durex; it also has a nutrition business under Mead Johnson Nutrition. Reckitt states its purpose as “to deliver better health in more hands, every day.” [1][2][3][4][5][6]
Reckitt has a global presence, with operations in more than 80 countries. It reported approximately £14.2 billion in net revenue for 2025 and employs about 36,000 people.[6] [1][2][3][4][5][6]
Products & services
Reckitt’s products span hygiene, over-the-counter health, intimate wellness and nutrition. Dettol and Lysol sell disinfecting and personal-hygiene products; examples include Dettol antiseptic personal-care products and Lysol surface cleaners, Laundry Sanitizer and Air Sanitizer. Harpic supplies lavatory-care products, while Finish sells dishwasher tablets, rinse aid and machine cleaner. Vanish offers laundry and carpet stain removers, and Veet makes hair-removal products.[7][8][9][10][11]
Its health products include Nurofen pain relief, Gaviscon, Strepsils sore-throat and cough lozenges, and Mucinex respiratory and sore-throat products. Durex sells condoms and personal lubricants. In infant nutrition, its Enfamil range includes NEURO PRO formula for infants aged 0–12 months, while Nutramigen includes a hypoallergenic formula with iron and probiotic LGG. In 2025, the reporting groupings containing these products accounted for approximately 72% of revenue from Core Reckitt, 13% from Essential Home and 15% from Mead Johnson Nutrition; these are grouping shares, not individual product or brand shares.[12][13][14][15][16][17] [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]
Geographic presence
Reckitt’s sales are spread across three reporting regions. In 2024, North America generated £4,542 million of net revenue (32.1% of the group total), Europe and Australia/New Zealand £4,859 million (34.3%), and Developing Markets £4,768 million (33.7%). Its country-level disclosure separately identifies the United States at £4,183 million (29.5% of group revenue) and the United Kingdom at £886 million (6.3%); other countries are reported together.[18][19]
Reckitt had approximately 37,900 employees in 2024: 5,000 in North America, 14,100 in Europe and Australia/New Zealand, and 18,800 in the rest of the world. Its registered office is in Slough, England. Reckitt also has US manufacturing operations; it reported that approximately 60% of its US products by value were produced locally.[19][20][21] [22][23][24][20][21][18][19]

Reckitt’s 2025 reporting divided its business into five operating segments: Core Emerging Markets, Core Europe, Core North America, Essential Home and Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN). The three geographic Core segments together generated £10.23 billion, or about 72% of group net revenue: Emerging Markets contributed about 30% of the group, Europe 24% and North America 18%. Company history
Reckitt Benckiser traces its origins to two businesses: Johann Adam Benckiser’s enterprise, established in Germany in 1823, and the starch business Isaac Reckitt started in Hull, England, in 1840. Reckitt & Colman and Benckiser merged in 1999 to form Reckitt Benckiser.[36][37]
The group expanded its consumer-health portfolio through the 2006 acquisition of Boots Healthcare International, which brought brands including Nurofen and Strepsils, and the 2010 acquisition of SSL International, which added Durex and Scholl. In 2014, it demerged its specialty pharmaceuticals business as Indivior. Its 2017 acquisition of Mead Johnson Nutrition marked a further expansion into infant nutrition.[36][38][39] [36][37][38][39]
