Company history

Randstad was founded in the Netherlands in 1960 by Frits Goldschmeding and Ger Daleboudt, who began an employment agency called Uitzendbureau Amstelveen. The company adopted the name Randstad Uitzendbureau in 1964 and had expanded to 32 branches in four countries by 1970. It became Randstad Holding N.V. in 1978, acquired staffing agency Tempo-Team in 1983, and listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange in 1990.[26]

The company began US operations in 1993 and expanded internationally through acquisitions in the US, Germany and Spain in 1998–99. Randstad’s merger with Vedior took effect in 2008. Subsequent acquisitions included FujiStaff in Japan (2010), SFN Group (2011), and Monster Worldwide (2016), among others. Founder Frits Goldschmeding retired as president and CEO in 1998; Jacques van den Broek became CEO in 2014.[29] [26]
