Company profile

QXO, Inc.

Updated

Overview

QXO, Inc. is a North American distributor and installer of building products. Its business includes roofing, waterproofing, insulation, lumber and other building materials, serving contractors and other customers through a branch network. The company’s stated mission is to modernize the building-products industry through advanced technology and a best-in-class customer experience.[1][2]

QXO operates across all 50 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces. It reported net sales of $6.842 billion in 2025, with Beacon Roofing Supply included only from its acquisition date that year; second-quarter 2026 net sales were $3.246 billion. Following the July 2026 TopBuild acquisition, QXO projected approximately 28,000 employees and 1,150 locations for the combined company; those figures were announced as projections, rather than a reported post-acquisition count.[3] [1]

Products & services

QXO’s product range includes residential roofing products, led by asphalt shingles, and non-residential roofing products such as single-ply membranes, insulation and accessories. Complementary building products include waterproofing materials, siding, plywood and OSB, and windows and doors. Its TRI-BUILT private-label line spans residential and commercial roofing, underlayment, fasteners and tools, and polyiso insulation.[8]

The company also offers project guidance, product training and technical support. Its roofing-insulation offerings include polyiso, coverboard, XPS, EPS and nailboard. Kodiak’s product and service range includes lumber, trusses, windows and doors, construction supplies, waterproofing and roofing products, as well as value-added assembly, fabrication and installation; TopBuild added insulation capabilities and installation reach. QXO describes sales as primarily product transfers and, to a lesser extent, installation and construction services, but does not provide product-category revenue percentages.[11] [8]

Geographic presence

QXO’s operating footprint spans all 50 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces. At December 31, 2025, it reported approximately 600 branch facilities, about 96% in the United States and 4% in Canada; these figures describe branch locations, not revenue. QXO’s current company information reports 1,150 locations across the United States and Canada.[5][15]

The company’s corporate headquarters is in Greenwich, Connecticut, with other large corporate offices in Herndon, Virginia; Coppell, Texas; and Seattle, Washington.[16] QXO’s Q2 2026 filing reports one operating segment, but the reviewed disclosures do not provide revenue by country, state, or province.[17] [5]

Business segments

QXO reported one operating segment in its Q2 2026 filing; management reviewed consolidated results, and no separate segment revenue was disclosed. Accordingly, the single reported segment represented 100% of net sales: $3.246 billion in Q2 2026 and $4.976 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026.[18][19]

Within that segment, Q2 2026 net sales were residential roofing products, $1.266 billion (39.0%); non-residential roofing products, $736 million (22.7%); complementary building products, $1.229 billion (37.9%); and software products and services, $15 million (0.4%). These are product-line shares, not separate reportable segments.[20] The company describes complementary products as including siding, waterproofing and lumber; its broader product range includes shingles, membranes, insulation, plywood/OSB, windows and doors.[17][8]

As of June 30, 2026, QXO said its segment review following acquisitions was still in progress, so later reporting could reflect a different segment structure.[21] [18]

Company history

QXO traces its corporate origins to a company incorporated in 2002 as a subsidiary of iVoice; it became an independent public company in 2004. That year, its subsidiary acquired SWK, Inc., marking an early step in the business software and technology-services operations that preceded QXO.[22][23] In 2011, the company changed its name to SilverSun Technologies.[24]

On June 6, 2024, following a $1 billion investment, SilverSun adopted the QXO name and ticker, and Brad Jacobs became chairman and CEO. The company then pursued expansion in building-products distribution through acquisitions: it completed its acquisition of Beacon Roofing Supply in April 2025, acquired Kodiak Building Partners in April 2026, and completed its acquisition of TopBuild in July 2026.[25] [25]
