Quanta Services, Inc. provides engineering, construction, maintenance and repair services for critical infrastructure. Its work serves electric utilities, renewable energy, natural gas, communications and other infrastructure markets. Its business is organized into Electric Infrastructure Solutions and Underground Utility and Infrastructure Solutions, reflecting a focus on building and maintaining the systems that deliver power and other essential services.[1]

Quanta operates primarily in the United States, with additional operations in Canada, Australia and select other international markets. In 2025, it reported approximately $28.5 billion in revenue and employed approximately 69,500 people at year-end.[1] [1]

Products & services

Quanta Services’ Electric segment designs, builds, upgrades, repairs and maintains electric power infrastructure, including systems that connect generation and battery-storage facilities to the grid. Its services include engineering, procurement and construction for utility-scale wind, solar and hydropower facilities; repowering and maintenance; emergency restoration; and installation of smart-grid technologies. The segment also designs and builds wireline and wireless communications networks and electrical systems for technology, advanced manufacturing and industrial facilities. Quanta manufactures power transformers and components for utility, renewable-energy, municipal-power and industrial customers.[8]

Its Underground and Infrastructure segment designs, builds and maintains natural-gas utility systems and provides pipeline protection, integrity testing, rehabilitation and replacement. Industrial services include catalyst replacement, high-pressure and critical-path turnarounds, instrumentation and electrical work, piping, fabrication and storage-tank services. It also supplies turnkey mechanical, plumbing and process infrastructure for large facilities, including technology, semiconductor and healthcare sites. In 2025, Electric accounted for approximately 81% of revenue and Underground and Infrastructure for approximately 19%; these are service-segment shares, not a breakdown of manufactured-product sales.[4][9] [8]

Geographic presence

Quanta Services is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and operates primarily in the United States. In 2025, it generated $2.00 billion, or 7.0% of consolidated revenue, from foreign operations. The substantial majority of that foreign revenue was related to Canada and Australia; Quanta also performs work in other countries and U.S. territories.[10][11]

Quanta owns and leases offices and other facilities across the United States, Canada, Australia and certain other countries. At the end of 2025, it employed approximately 64,400 people in the United States and 5,100 outside the United States, with most non-U.S. employees based in Canada.[12][7] [10]

Business segments

Quanta Services reports two business segments. **Electric** combines its former Electric Power Infrastructure Solutions and Renewable Energy Infrastructure Solutions segments. It covers electric transmission and distribution, substations, power generation and storage—including wind, solar, hydropower and batteries—communications infrastructure, and electrical systems for large facilities. Electric generated about **81% of 2025 revenue**.[2]

**Underground and Infrastructure** generated about **19% of 2025 revenue**. Its work includes natural-gas and other pipeline infrastructure, gas utility systems, pipeline construction and rehabilitation, civil and industrial energy services, and mechanical, plumbing and process infrastructure for large facilities. Quanta previously reported renewable-energy infrastructure as a separate segment, but it is now included within Electric rather than disclosed as a standalone revenue category.[4] [2]

Company history

Quanta Services was organized in Delaware in 1997 and expanded its infrastructure-services business through acquisitions. In 2007, it acquired InfraSource Services in an all-stock transaction. Its 2009 acquisition of Price Gregory substantially expanded its natural-gas pipeline operations, while the 2010 acquisition of Canada-based Valard Construction broadened its electric-power services in Canada.[14][15]

Earl C. “Duke” Austin Jr. succeeded Jim O’Neil as chief executive officer in 2016. In 2021, Quanta acquired Blattner, a provider of construction and related services for utility-scale wind, solar and energy-storage projects; the acquisition led Quanta to establish a separate renewable-energy infrastructure reporting segment.[16] [14]
