Qorvo, Inc.

Updated

Overview

Qorvo, Inc. is a semiconductor company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets radio-frequency (RF), analog and mixed-signal, power-management, and wireless-connectivity solutions. Its products include RF and cellular components, connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy and ultra-wideband, and power-management products used in mobile devices, Internet of Things applications, infrastructure, industrial and consumer markets. Its businesses are organized into High Performance Analog, Connectivity and Sensors, and Advanced Cellular groups.[1]

Qorvo describes its purpose as helping to “connect, protect and power” the planet. Its global operations serve customers internationally; as of March 28, 2026, it had about 5,200 full- and part-time employees in 23 countries, with staff across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Revenue for fiscal 2026 was approximately $3.68 billion.[4] [1]

Products & services

Qorvo’s product portfolio includes radio-frequency (RF), analog/mixed-signal and power-management components, connectivity products, and cellular devices. For cellular infrastructure and broadband networks, products include switches, filters, low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), variable-gain amplifiers, control circuits, and DOCSIS 4.0 components such as power doublers, drivers, preamplifiers, return amplifiers, attenuators and equalizers. For defense, aerospace and satellite communications, the portfolio includes high-power RF amplifiers, LNAs, limiters, phase shifters, mixers, beamforming and power-management ICs, and products for low-Earth-orbit satellite communications. Other offerings include configurable power-management ICs, motor-control and battery-management solutions.[7]

Connectivity products include Wi-Fi front-end modules and components, multi-protocol system-on-chips (SoCs) supporting Bluetooth Low Energy, Zigbee, Matter and Thread, and ultra-wideband (UWB) SoCs and system-in-package products for precise location and secure access. Qorvo’s Wi-Fi portfolio includes power amplifiers, switches, LNAs and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters. For example, the QPF4207 is a 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi 7 front-end module integrating a power amplifier, switch and bypassable LNA; the QPF4702 is a medium-power Wi-Fi 7 front-end module operating from 5.17 to 7.125 GHz. Automotive products include RF front ends and UWB solutions for secure digital-key access, positioning and in-cabin sensing; the QPF5100Q is an automotive UWB SoC.[7]

For FY2026, Qorvo reported revenue of $705.7 million from High Performance Analog (about 19% of total), $421.7 million from Connectivity and Sensors (about 11%), and $2,551.2 million from Advanced Cellular (about 69%), out of $3,678.5 million total. These are segment figures; the company did not report revenue percentages for individual product families in the cited disclosure. Customer-facing support includes the QSPICE analog/mixed-signal design simulator, product samples and evaluation boards, technical information, and application-engineering assistance.[7] [7]

Geographic presence

In FY2026, customers outside the United States accounted for approximately 37% of Qorvo’s revenue, including approximately 13% from China; the company reports these figures by customer location.[11] Qorvo operates sales, R&D, manufacturing, assembly and test activities in multiple countries, with some activities concentrated in Asia. Its FY2026 filing identifies wafer-fabrication facilities in North Carolina, Oregon and Texas, and internal assembly facilities in Germany and the United States; the Costa Rica assembly/test facility closed during the year.[12]

Company materials identify Greensboro, North Carolina, as its headquarters and list other U.S. sites in Richardson, Texas, and Bend and Hillsboro, Oregon, as well as a site in Singapore.[15][16] The company reports more than 5,100 employees at FY2026 year-end, but the cited materials do not specify their geographic distribution.[17] [11]

Business segments

Qorvo reports three operating and reportable segments. High Performance Analog (HPA) provides RF, analog mixed-signal and power-management solutions, primarily for defense and aerospace, infrastructure, industrial and enterprise, and consumer markets. Connectivity and Sensors Group (CSG) provides connectivity technologies including UWB, Matter, BLE, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi and cellular, serving automotive, consumer, industrial and enterprise, and mobile markets. Advanced Cellular Group (ACG) supplies advanced cellular solutions for smartphones, wearables, laptops, tablets and other devices, primarily serving mobile markets.[18]

In FY2026, HPA generated $705.7 million of revenue, approximately 19.2% of total revenue; CSG generated $421.7 million, approximately 11.5%; and ACG generated $2,551.2 million, approximately 69.4%. These shares are calculated from reported segment revenue of $3,678.5 million in total. Qorvo also groups its business by six end markets—automotive, consumer, defense and aerospace, industrial and enterprise, infrastructure, and mobile—but this is a market classification rather than a separate set of reportable segments.[22][23] [18]

Company history

Qorvo’s history traces to two semiconductor businesses: TriQuint Semiconductor, founded in 1985, and RF Micro Devices (RFMD), founded in 1991. RFMD and TriQuint agreed to combine in 2014, announced the Qorvo name that September, and completed the merger on January 1, 2015, with RFMD’s Bob Bruggeworth becoming Qorvo’s president and CEO.[4]

Qorvo expanded its wireless product portfolio as 5G developed: in 2017 it announced a mobile-device 5G RF front end, and in 2019 it said its mobile 5G portfolio had entered high-volume production. From 2019 onward, acquisitions broadened its capabilities in areas including ultra-wideband, analog power, RF MEMS, and silicon-carbide power semiconductors; in 2024 it completed the acquisition of Anokiwave, extending its portfolio in advanced microwave and millimeter-wave products.[26]

In October 2025, Qorvo and Skyworks announced a proposed merger. As of October 3, 2026, the transaction had not closed; the companies had reported receiving regulatory clearances and expected to complete it around October 5, subject to remaining conditions.[31][32] [28]
