QIAGEN N.V. is a life-sciences and molecular-diagnostics company that develops “Sample to Insight” solutions for researchers and clinical laboratories. Its products and services help customers prepare biological samples, analyze molecular information and interpret results through assays, instruments, automation and bioinformatics. Products & services
QIAGEN’s sample-preparation products include QIAamp and QIAwave kits for extracting and purifying DNA and RNA, alongside QIAsymphony and QIAcube instruments that automate sample processing. Its amplification and sequencing products include PCR and RT-PCR reagents, QIAcuity digital PCR instruments and consumables, and QIAseq kits and panels for next-generation sequencing.[8][9][10]
For molecular diagnostics, QIAGEN offers QuantiFERON blood tests for tuberculosis infection and QIAstat-Dx systems and assays for syndromic infectious-disease testing. Its software portfolio includes QIAGEN Digital Insights tools for analyzing and interpreting genomic data, available as standalone or cloud-based solutions; the company also offers custom sequencing and genomic services.[11][10][12]
In 2025, diagnostic solutions accounted for 38% of net sales, sample technologies 32%, PCR and nucleic-acid amplification 15%, and genomics and next-generation sequencing 12%. QIAGEN N.V.’s principal executive offices and global headquarters are in Venlo, the Netherlands. Its regional headquarters are in Hilden, Germany (Europe, Middle East and Africa); Germantown, Maryland (Americas); Shanghai, China; and Singapore.[4][14]
In 2025, the Americas accounted for $1,086.5 million, or 52.0%, of net sales; Europe, Middle East and Africa for $712.8 million, or 34.1%; and Asia Pacific, Japan and Rest of World for $290.7 million, or 13.9%. U.S. sales were $998.4 million, approximately 47.8% of the $2.09 billion total. Sales are attributed geographically according to customer location.[15][16]

Company history
QIAGEN traces its origins to Diagen, founded in Düsseldorf in 1984 by Metin Colpan, Karsten Henco and Jürgen Schumacher, with support from Detlev Riesner. In 1986, the company launched its Plasmid Maxi Purification Kit, an early milestone in its development of tools for preparing genetic material. QIAGEN went public on Nasdaq in 1996.[32][33][34]
Acquisitions broadened the business beyond laboratory sample preparation. QIAGEN completed its purchase of molecular-diagnostics company Digene in 2007 and acquired Cellestis, whose technologies included the QuantiFERON test platform, in 2011. In 2018, it acquired STAT-Dx and launched the QIAstat-Dx diagnostic platform in Europe. Thierry Bernard was named chief executive officer in 2020.[35][36][37][38] [32][33][34][35][36][37][38]
