PJT Partners Inc.

Updated

Overview

PJT Partners Inc. is a global, advisory-focused investment bank that provides independent advice to companies and investors. Its core businesses are Strategic Advisory, Restructuring and Special Situations, and PJT Park Hill, which advises on and raises capital for alternative investment funds. The firm’s stated purpose is to help clients navigate complexity, unlock value and lead through change.[1]

PJT serves clients across the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific. It reported revenue of $1.71 billion for 2025 and had 1,224 employees, including 133 partners, at year-end. Revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026 was $904.5 million.[6] Founded in 2013, the firm became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange in 2015.[11][1] [1]

Products & services

PJT Partners provides strategic and transaction advisory, including advice on mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures, joint ventures, minority investments, contested transactions and responses to shareholder activism. Its capital-markets work includes advising on and executing public and private debt and equity financings, acquisition financing, structured-product offerings, IPOs and private capital raises, as well as other capital-structure matters.[2]

Its restructuring and special-situations services cover liability management, restructurings, bespoke financing, distressed M&A, tort-liability resolutions and Chapter 11 matters. Through PJT Park Hill, the firm provides fundraising and advisory services for private equity, alternative credit and hedge funds, real estate, direct investments and secondary transactions; it also advises general and limited partners on liquidity and structured solutions.[3] Engagement and placement fees may depend on transaction completion or capital raised; fund fees may be earned at closings or over time, with closed-end fees sometimes paid over three or four years and open-end fees generally based on placed investors’ month-end net asset value.[13]

For 2025, advisory fees were approximately 87.6% of total revenue and placement fees approximately 10.6%, calculated from reported amounts. These are fee categories, not revenue shares for individual advisory services; PJT says its services are integrated and it does not consider revenue by type of advice a meaningful or reliable measure.[14][15] [2]

Geographic presence

PJT Partners is headquartered at 280 Park Avenue in New York City and maintains offices in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in the United States; Dubai; Frankfurt and Munich; Hong Kong; London; Madrid; Paris; Riyadh; Tokyo; and Stockholm. These offices are leased.[16][6]

The company describes its advisory platform as global, with work involving transactions worldwide and relationships with companies, capital sources, and decision makers across regions.[1] At December 31, 2025, PJT Partners reported 1,224 employees, including 133 partners, but did not provide a geographic employee breakdown.[19] Its FY2025 Form 10-K does not report revenue by country or region.[20] [16]

Business segments

PJT Partners reports one operating and reportable segment: advisory services. Management evaluates performance and allocates resources on a consolidated basis, rather than reporting separate segments for its advisory businesses. The segment therefore represented 100% of revenue: $1.714 billion in FY2025 and $904.5 million in the first half of 2026.[21]

The advisory business encompasses strategic, shareholder and capital-markets advice, restructuring and special-situations work. The company also provides alternative-asset advisory and fundraising through PJT Park Hill, covering private equity, alternative credit and hedge funds, real estate and related private-capital solutions; these activities are described as business lines, not separately reported segments.[24][4] [21]

Company history

PJT Partners traces its origins to PJT Capital LP, founded in 2013 by Paul J. Taubman. On October 1, 2015, Blackstone separated its financial and strategic advisory, restructuring and reorganization advisory, and Park Hill Group businesses and combined them with PJT Capital to form independent, publicly traded PJT Partners. The company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange as PJT that day, with Taubman as Chairman and CEO.[11]

In 2018, PJT acquired CamberView Partners, adding corporate-governance and shareholder advisory capabilities. In 2024, it opened offices in Tokyo and Munich and acquired deNovo Partners, expanding its presence in Dubai and Riyadh.[28] [11]
