Pampa Energy Inc.’s operations and customer base are concentrated in Argentina; its filings do not provide revenue by country or regional percentages. Its oil and gas production and proved reserves are located in Argentina, across the Neuquén, San Jorge and Noroeste basins. The company reported 446,000 net acres in Argentina, approximately 71% of them in Neuquén, and major Neuquén fields include Rincón de Aranda, El Mangrullo, Sierra Chata and Río Neuquén.[15]

Its wider infrastructure footprint includes interests in Transener’s high-voltage transmission network, which extends 22,445 km across Argentina, and TGS’s 9,248-km gas pipeline network in central, western and southern Argentina. TGS also operates a gas processing complex at Bahía Blanca and infrastructure serving Vaca Muerta.[19]

Business segments

Pampa’s latest current-year update is its Q2 2026 earnings release; the latest detailed annual segment figures identified are for FY2025. The company reports four segments: Oil and gas, Generation, Petrochemicals, and Holding, Transportation and others. Oil and gas covers oil and natural-gas production and sales; Generation covers electricity generation, with thermal, hydroelectric and wind shown as activity types within that segment. Petrochemicals is reported as a separate segment, and Holding, Transportation and others is a combined segment.[21]

For FY2025, the segments’ shares of consolidated assets were approximately 38% for Oil and gas, 46% for Generation, 2% for Petrochemicals, and 14% for Holding, Transportation and others. Their shares of reported segment operating income were approximately 18%, 75%, –6%, and 14%, respectively. These are different measures of segment contribution, and the asset percentages do not sum exactly to 100% because of eliminations.[22][25]

By revenue, Oil and gas generated about US$862 million, or 43% of consolidated 2025 revenue, while Holding, Transportation and others generated about US$24 million, or 1%. The identified FY2025 segment tables do not provide revenue figures for Generation and Petrochemicals, so their current-year revenue shares are not stated here.[26] [22]

Company history

Pampa Energía’s legal predecessor was incorporated in Argentina in 1945 as Frigorífico La Pampa S.A. and left the cold-storage business in 2003. In 2005, the company was acquired by its current principal shareholders as an investment vehicle, renamed Pampa Holding S.A., and began building an energy portfolio; it acquired a controlling stake in electricity distributor Edenor in 2007. In September 2008, it adopted the name Pampa Energía S.A.[29][30]

In 2016, Pampa acquired a 67.1933% interest in Petrobras Argentina and began integrating the businesses; shareholders approved the absorption merger in February 2017. In 2020, Pampa agreed to sell its controlling stake in Edenor, with the transaction completed in 2021. In 2025, it agreed to sell its interests in the El Tordillo, La Tapera and Puesto Quiroga concessions, a transaction completed that October. In July 2026, Argentina approved Pampa’s Rincón de Aranda project for the RIGI investment regime, marking a major planned upstream expansion.[29] [29]
