OMNIVISION INTEGRATED CIRCUI

Updated

Overview

OmniVision Integrated Circuits Group, Inc. is a China-incorporated, Shanghai-based fabless semiconductor company. It designs integrated circuits for digital imaging, displays and analog applications, and also distributes semiconductors. Its products include CMOS image sensors, display drivers and power-management components used in smartphones, vehicles, security systems and medical devices.[1]

The company describes its mission as “Empower the Sensing by Technology.” It serves a global market: in 2025, about 80% of its main-business revenue came from outside mainland China. Consolidated operating revenue was RMB28.9 billion that year.[8] [1]

Products & services

OmniVision Integrated Circuits Group’s principal products are CMOS image sensors for smartphones, vehicles, medical devices and other imaging applications. Its OV50X smartphone sensor has 50-megapixel resolution, a 1-inch optical format, 1.6 μm pixels and single-exposure HDR approaching 110 dB. Automotive products include the 8-megapixel OX08D20 for exterior ADAS cameras and the 5-megapixel OX05C global-shutter sensor for driver and occupant monitoring. Its medical imaging applications include endoscopes, intraoral scanners and catheters.[11]

The company also supplies display chips, including LCD touch-and-display-driver integration (TDDI) chips, OLED display-driver ICs and timing-controller-embedded drivers (TED). Its analog portfolio includes power-management, signal-conditioning and power-driver ICs, as well as discrete devices. It separately reports semiconductor design services and semiconductor distribution, and provides field-application-engineering support to help customers integrate its products.[15]

In 2025, advanced digital imaging accounted for 73.73% of main-business revenue, semiconductor distribution for 17.02%, analog solutions for 5.60%, display solutions for 3.27%, and semiconductor design services for 0.38%.[9] [11]

Geographic presence

OmniVision Integrated Circuits Group has its registered address and business address in Shanghai, China; its business address is at OmniVision Technology Park in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Its principal subsidiaries have places of business in mainland China, Hong Kong, the United States, Canada and Singapore.[3][17]

Sales extend substantially beyond mainland China. In 2025, mainland China accounted for RMB 5.75 billion, or 19.96%, of main-business revenue, while markets outside mainland China accounted for RMB 23.06 billion, or 80.04%. The reported geographic breakdown does not distinguish individual countries or regions outside mainland China.[9] [3]

Business segments

OMNIVISION reports two principal operating segments: Semiconductor Design and Semiconductor Distribution. It manages and evaluates them separately because their products, services and business risks differ.[18]

Its more detailed business-line breakdown shows how revenue is generated. In 2025, advanced digital imaging solutions accounted for approximately 73.7% of main-business revenue; this line includes image sensors and other imaging technologies used in smartphones, vehicles, medical devices and surveillance.[9][14] Display solutions, including display-driver technologies, contributed 3.3%, while analog solutions, including analog integrated circuits and discrete devices, contributed 5.6%.[9][14] Semiconductor design services contributed 0.4%, and semiconductor distribution contributed 17.0%.[9] Together, the four design-related business lines represented approximately 83% of main-business revenue. These business-line percentages are a revenue breakdown, not a separately reported revenue split between the two operating segments.[9][18] [18]

Company history

Yu Renrong founded the company in 2007 and became its chairman in 2011. It listed its shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on May 4, 2017, under stock code 603501.[19][20]
