Products & services

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. offers cruise products through three brands: Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), positioned around freedom and flexibility; Oceania Cruises, focused on culinary and destination experiences; and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, its ultra-luxury brand.[9]

Cruise offerings combine accommodations with dining, bars and lounges, entertainment, pools and sports activities, and access to shore excursions. Additional onboard and trip services include spas, casinos, retail shopping, Wi-Fi and communications, and pre- or post-cruise air and hotel packages. What is included in the fare varies by brand: Oceania fares typically include specialty dining, Wi-Fi, laundry and gratuities, while Regent typically includes shore excursions, beverages, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, valet laundry and gratuities. Some services and purchases—including certain dining and beverages, excursions, spa treatments, casino activity and retail—may carry additional charges.[2]

The company offers itineraries across regions including Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, South America, Africa, Canada, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii. Its U.S.-flagged *Pride of America* provides an entirely inter-island Hawaii itinerary.[4] In the second quarter of 2026, the company listed *Seven Seas Prestige* (approximately 77,000 gross tons and 822 berths), *Norwegian Aura* (approximately 170,000 gross tons and 3,880 berths), and *Oceania Sonata* (approximately 86,000 gross tons and 1,390 berths) for delivery in 2026 or 2027.[15]

For fiscal 2025, passenger-ticket revenue was $6.688 billion (about 68.1% of consolidated revenue) and onboard and other revenue was $3.140 billion (about 31.9%). In the first half of 2026, the respective figures were $3.272 billion (about 65.8%) and $1.700 billion (about 34.2%). These percentages are calculated from reported consolidated amounts, not brand-level product shares. Ticket revenue primarily includes cruise accommodations and specified meals, entertainment, charges and transportation; onboard and other revenue includes items such as casino, beverages, excursions, specialty dining, retail, spa and Wi-Fi.[6] [2]

Geographic presence

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. operates itineraries to approximately 700 ports worldwide, including destinations in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Africa, Canada, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii. Its private destinations are Great Stirrup Cay in The Bahamas and Harvest Caye in Belize; the U.S.-flagged *Pride of America* operates an entirely inter-island Hawaii itinerary.[18][4]

In 2025, reported revenue by destination was $5.649 billion from North America (57.5% of total), $2.899 billion from Europe (29.5%), $0.997 billion from Asia-Pacific (10.1%), and $0.283 billion from Other (2.9%); percentages are calculated from reported destination revenue totaling $9.828 billion. North America includes the U.S., Caribbean, Canada and Mexico; Europe includes the Baltic region, Canary Islands and Mediterranean; Asia-Pacific includes Australia, New Zealand and Asia; Other comprises other international territories.[19][20]

The company’s principal executive offices are in Miami, Florida, where it leases approximately 393,571 square feet of facilities; its registered offices are in Hamilton, Bermuda. The available reporting describes shoreside and shipboard employees but does not specify their geographic distribution.[21] [18]

Business segments

For FY2025, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. reported **one reportable segment**, comprising three operating segments: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The company aggregates these brands because it considers them to have similar economic and qualitative characteristics; the reportable segment corresponds to the consolidated financial statements. It therefore represents 100% of reported consolidated revenue, but the company does not disclose revenue contributions separately by brand, so individual brand percentages cannot be estimated from the filing.[3]

The brands have distinct customer and product positioning: Norwegian Cruise Line emphasizes flexible, guest-directed Freestyle Cruising; Oceania Cruises focuses on culinary and destination-led cruises; and Regent Seven Seas Cruises offers an ultra-luxury, all-suite, all-inclusive experience.[10] [3]

Company history

Norwegian Cruise Line’s roots date to December 1966, when Knut Kloster’s Norwegian Caribbean Lines began operating cruises between Miami and Nassau. The company adopted the name Norwegian Cruise Line in 1987 and acquired Orient Lines in 1998. In 2000, Genting took control of Norwegian Cruise Line, which introduced its Freestyle Cruising model that year.[25]

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings began trading on Nasdaq in January 2013. In 2014, it completed its acquisition of Prestige Cruises International, bringing Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises into its portfolio. The company expanded its fleet with new ship classes, including Norwegian Breakaway in 2013 and Norwegian Escape in 2015; Norwegian Prima, the first Prima-class ship, followed in 2022.[28]

Leadership of the holding company changed in 2015, when Frank Del Rio became president and CEO, and again in 2023, when Harry Sommer succeeded him. John W. Chidsey was appointed president and CEO in February 2026.[33] [25]
