NIBE INDUSTRIER B

Updated

Overview

NIBE Industrier is a Swedish international industrial group developing energy-efficient solutions for heating, cooling, ventilation and hot water, alongside heating and control components for industry and consumer products. Its operations are organized into three business areas: NIBE Climate Solutions, NIBE Element and NIBE Stoves. The company’s business concept is to develop sustainable, world-class energy solutions through dedicated and responsible work.[1]

Founded in Markaryd, Sweden, in 1952, NIBE has grown into a global group. In full-year 2025, it reported net sales of SEK 40,841 million and 20,563 employees. Its latest interim report available as of 4 October 2026 reported net sales of SEK 20,499 million for the first half of 2026.[4] [5]

Products & services

NIBE Climate Solutions offers heat pumps, air conditioning, heat recovery and ventilation equipment, water heaters, and solar and district-heating products. Its heat-pump range includes ground-source, air/water and exhaust-air systems, with products that can combine heating, cooling, ventilation and hot-water production. For example, the NIBE S735C is an inverter-controlled exhaust-air heat pump with an integrated hot-water heater and built-in cooling.[8]

NIBE Element supplies heating and control components for industrial and consumer applications, including heating elements, heating cables and heat exchangers. Its cited application areas include energy and heating, road and rail, wind power and medtech. NIBE Stoves offers stoves in different sizes and designs and for different energy sources, as well as chimney systems and accessories.[11][12]

Digital and customer services include the myUplink app for monitoring heat-pump status, controlling heating and hot water, receiving alerts and accessing operating-data updates and software downloads. NIBE also provides market-specific support such as installer referrals, servicing information and warranty registration. In the Q2 2026 interim presentation, the business areas represented 65% of net sales for Climate Solutions, 28% for Element and 7% for Stoves; these are segment shares, not product-level percentages.[13] [8]

Geographic presence

In FY2025, NIBE’s sales were distributed across the Nordic countries (18%), Europe excluding the Nordics (45%), North America (31%) and other countries (6%).[18] Sweden accounted for SEK 3,718 million, or 9.1% of Group net sales; 90.9% came from outside Sweden.[19]

The parent company’s head office is in Markaryd, Sweden.[20] The Group’s subsidiary register lists registered offices in countries including Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Serbia, the US, Canada, Australia and China.[21] These listings indicate a broad international presence but do not provide a complete inventory of operating or production sites. [18]

Business segments

NIBE reports three business areas: NIBE Climate Solutions, NIBE Element and NIBE Stoves. Climate Solutions focuses on indoor climate comfort, including heating, air conditioning, heat recovery, ventilation and water heating for homes and commercial properties [8]. Element supplies components and intelligent heating and control solutions for industrial and infrastructure markets [11]. Stoves offers stoves using different energy sources, as well as chimney systems and accessories, for homes and commercial properties [12].

In its 2025 annual report, NIBE reported external net sales of SEK 26,834 million for Climate Solutions, SEK 10,532 million for Element and SEK 3,475 million for Stoves, against Group net sales of SEK 40,841 million. These represent approximately 65.7%, 25.8% and 8.5% of Group revenue, respectively; the percentages are calculated from external sales and are revenue shares, not profit shares [22]. [22]

Company history

NIBE’s roots date to 1952, when Nils Bernerup founded NIBE-Verken in Markaryd, Sweden, and began producing electric water heaters. The company expanded into stoves in 1965 and presented its first heat pump, the Fighter Twin, in 1981. In 1989, after the Bernerup family sold NIBE-Verken and Backer Elektro-Värme, employees and two outside investors acquired the businesses and formed NIBE Industrier AB.[4]

NIBE Industrier listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1997. In 2005 it acquired Norway’s Northstar Group, expanding its stove business; in 2016 it acquired Climate Control Group, broadening its climate-solutions presence in North America.[4] [4]
