Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPS) is a global, fabless semiconductor company that develops power-electronics solutions. Founded in 1997, it designs products that manage and convert electrical power, including DC-to-DC and AC-to-DC converters, power-management integrated circuits and related devices. Its stated mission is to reduce energy and material consumption to improve quality of life and support a sustainable future.[1][2]

MPS serves applications in computing and enterprise data infrastructure, automotive systems, communications, consumer electronics and industrial equipment. Products & services

Monolithic Power Systems’ products center on power-management semiconductors, including DC-to-DC and AC-to-DC converters, MOSFET drivers, power-management ICs, current-limit switches and lighting controls. Its DC-to-DC products convert and regulate voltage for applications ranging from computing equipment and AI systems to vehicles and industrial devices. The MP1584, for example, is a 3A step-down converter that operates from a 4.5–28V input at a 1.5MHz switching frequency; the MPM54304 power module integrates four configurable output channels for multi-rail designs.[2]+3 [2]+3

Geographic presence

Monolithic Power Systems’ sales are concentrated in Asia. In 2025, revenue by customer ship-to location was $1.54 billion from China (55% of total), $550 million from Taiwan (20%) and $253 million from South Korea (9%). Southeast Asia accounted for about 5%, Europe 4%, the United States 3% and Japan 3%. Ship-to location describes where products are delivered, not necessarily where customers ultimately use them.[9][10]

The company lists its principal executive offices in West Palm Beach, Florida, and has engineering teams in Asia, Europe and the United States.[11][12] Its third-party wafer foundries are in China, Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore; assembly and packaging subcontractors are in China, Taiwan, Malaysia and South Korea.[13] Facilities larger than 10,000 square feet totaled 239,000 square feet in the United States and 1.44 million square feet in other countries.[14][15] [9]+14

Monolithic Power Systems reports one operating and reportable segment; it does not report its product lines or customer end markets as separate segments. Its revenue is instead broken down across six end markets.[16]

In 2025, storage and computing accounted for approximately 26% of revenue, serving applications such as memory, storage, notebooks and graphics cards; enterprise data accounted for 25%, serving servers, workstations and AI systems.[17][18] Automotive contributed 21%, with applications including driver-assistance, infotainment, body electronics and lighting systems.[17][18]

Communications represented approximately 11% of revenue, covering network infrastructure, satellite communications, optical modules and wireless solutions. Consumer products, including home appliances, gaming systems and televisions, contributed 9%; industrial applications, including power sources, meters and security equipment, contributed 7%. Company history

Monolithic Power Systems was founded in 1997 by Michael Hsing to develop integrated power-management technology. In May 1998, it launched a single-chip solution for notebook-computer backlighting. The company went public in 2004, with its shares listed on Nasdaq under the symbol MPWR.[19]+2

MPS expanded its technology portfolio through acquisitions, buying Swiss magnetic-sensor developer Sensima Technology in 2014 and Dutch audio-IC developer Axign in 2024. Hsing remained president and chief executive throughout this period.[22]+2 [19]+5
