Overview

Loomis AB is a cash and valuables logistics company providing secure transportation, processing and storage of cash and valuables, along with cash-management and related payment services. Its customers include banks, financial institutions, retailers, other businesses and public-sector organizations.[1][2]

The company operates in more than 25 countries through around 400 branches and has approximately 24,000 employees. Loomis reported 2025 revenue of more than SEK 30 billion. Its stated vision is a society where everyone can access payment infrastructure and choose their preferred payment method.[2][3] [1]

Products & services

Loomis’s services include Cash in Transit (CIT), collecting and delivering cash to and from retailers, banks and ATMs on customer-specific schedules; Cash Management Services (CMS), including cash counting, authentication, reconciliation, reporting and storage; and Automated Solutions such as SafePoint smart safes and cash recyclers, which support cash deposits, monitoring, tracking and audit trails. Its ATM services include outsourced cash transport, management, forecasting, monitoring and maintenance.[6]

Other offerings include International transport, management and storage of cash, precious metals and valuables, including customs clearance and delivery; foreign-exchange services supplying currency to exchange bureaus, banks and individuals; and Loomis Pay, an integrated payment service covering cards, cash and alternative or digital payments. In FY2025, reported revenue was SEK 10,140 million for CIT, SEK 5,070 million for CMS, SEK 6,016 million for ATM, SEK 6,064 million for Automated Solutions, SEK 2,029 million for International, SEK 689 million for FXGS and SEK 144 million for Loomis Pay. These represented approximately 33%, 17%, 20%, 20%, 7%, 2% and 0.5%, respectively, of total FY2025 revenue of SEK 30,427 million; percentages are calculated from reported amounts.[10] [13]

Geographic presence

In its 2025 reporting, Loomis presents the USA and Europe and Latin America (EUL) as geographic segments. Its stated European markets are France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey; its South American markets include Chile and Argentina. Loomis International also operates in Hong Kong, Dubai, Shanghai and Singapore. Loomis Pay was present in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain and Andorra.[14]

For 2025, segment revenue was SEK 15,850 million in the USA and SEK 14,614 million in EUL; SME/Pay contributed SEK 208 million. These amounts represent approximately 52.1%, 48.0% and 0.7% of reported Group revenue of SEK 30,427 million, respectively. The percentages are calculated from the reported segment and group figures; SME/Pay is customer-focused, not a geographic segment. The report does not provide a country-by-country revenue breakdown.[19]

At year-end 2025, Loomis reported 24,630 employees: 10,331 in the USA and 14,299 in Europe and Latin America. It does not provide a country-level employee breakdown in the cited information. Loomis AB’s registered office and head-office visiting address is Drottninggatan 82, 111 36 Stockholm, Sweden; the parent company reported 59 head-office employees at year-end.[20] [14]

Business segments

Loomis reports three operating segments: Europe and Latin America (EUL), USA, and SME/Pay. EUL and USA are geographic segments; SME/Pay is customer-focused. SME/Pay was renamed from Loomis Pay effective January 1, 2025, and includes Loomis Pay as well as revenue from other business lines for new small- and medium-sized-enterprise customers previously reported in EUL or USA.[14][23]

EUL covers Loomis’ operations in 16 European and two Latin American countries, as well as Loomis International hubs. Its reported service areas include Cash in Transit, Cash Management Services and International, with adjacent ATM and Automated Solutions businesses. USA covers the company’s U.S. operations and is reported geographically.[24][1]

Using FY2025 segment total revenue divided by Group total revenue, approximate contributions were EUL 48.0%, USA 52.1%, and SME/Pay 0.7%. These shares are based on segment revenues before eliminations; after SEK 245 million of eliminations, Group total revenue was SEK 30,427 million, so the rounded segment shares add to slightly more than 100%.[25] [14]

Company history

Loomis’s history draws on several predecessor businesses. Its U.S. lineage includes Wells Fargo & Co., founded by Henry Wells and William Fargo in 1852, and Lee Loomis’s armored-car business, which the company traces to 1905 and the formation of Loomis Armored Car Service around 1925. Its Swedish lineage began in 1935, when Erik Philip-Sörensen established Helsingborgs Nattvakt.[27] In 1972, companies owned by Philip-Sörensen were consolidated under the Securitas brand.[30]

Loomis, Fargo & Co. merged with Securitas in 2001. After Securitas announced a separation of its cash-handling business in 2006, the business was listed as Loomis in 2008, with shares distributed to Securitas shareholders.[31][32] The company expanded in South America through its 2012 acquisition of Argentina’s Vigencia and broadened its international valuables-logistics operations with the 2014 acquisition of VIA MAT.[33][34] In 2018 it added currency-exchange services through the acquisition of CPoR Devises; it launched its Loomis Pay payment solution in 2020.[35][36]

More recently, Loomis acquired automated-solutions company CIMA in 2023 and Spanish point-of-sale solutions provider Hosteltáctil in 2024.[37][38] [27]
