Company profile

Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.

Updated

Overview

Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. is a global live entertainment company focused on concerts, ticketing, and sponsorship and advertising. It promotes and produces concerts and festivals, operates venues, provides ticketing services through Ticketmaster, and sells sponsorship and advertising tied to its events and platforms. The company took its current form through the 2010 merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster Entertainment.[1]

Live Nation states that its mission is to bring more music to more fans in more places around the world. It operated in 55 countries in 2025 and reported approximately $25.2 billion in annual revenue and 17,700 full-time employees at year-end.[4] [1]

Products & services

Live Nation’s concert offerings include producing and promoting live shows and multi-day festivals, operating venues, and providing artist management services. At its events and venues, it sells tickets and provides concessions, merchandise and parking; it also earns venue-rental fees. Artist management services primarily generate commissions on touring income. Concerts accounted for 82.8% of consolidated revenue in 2025.[2][8]

Ticketmaster provides ticketing software and services to event organizers and venues, alongside an online and mobile marketplace for event information and primary and resale tickets. Tickets are sold through websites, mobile apps, outlets and box offices; Live Nation earns ticketing fees rather than recording the tickets’ face value as revenue. Its ticketing portfolio also includes Front Gate Tickets for festivals, Universe for general-admission and timed-entry events, and TicketWeb for independent venues and promoters. Ticketmaster’s SafeTix uses encrypted digital tickets, while Verified Fan uses registration to help filter automated buyers in high-demand sales. Ticketing accounted for 12.2% of consolidated revenue in 2025.[9]

Sponsorship and advertising offerings give brands placements and promotional rights across events, venues and digital properties. They include venue signage and naming rights, ticket presales, beverage rights, onsite promotions, and advertising alongside streaming or other music content. This segment accounted for 5.3% of consolidated revenue in 2025.[17][8] [2]

Geographic presence

Live Nation Entertainment is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. At the end of 2025, it had offices in 51 countries and operations in 55 countries. Its concert, venue and ticketing activities span North America and international markets.[18][5]

The company reported interests or operating rights in 460 venues at year-end 2025: 333 in North America and 127 internationally. Markets outside the United States accounted for more than half of its annual concert fan attendance in 2025. These figures describe venue location and attendance, rather than geographic revenue.[19][20] [18]

Business segments

Live Nation Entertainment reports three business segments: Concerts, Ticketing, and Sponsorship & Advertising. Concerts promotes and produces live music events and festivals, operates venues, and provides artist-management services. Its revenue includes event tickets, concessions, merchandise, parking and venue rentals. Ticketing operates ticketing platforms and a marketplace for third-party clients and Live Nation events; its revenue primarily reflects service fees rather than the face value of tickets. Sponsorship & Advertising sells sponsorship programs and advertising across the company’s venues, events, ticketing platforms and digital properties.[2]

In 2025, Concerts generated approximately $20.9 billion, or 83% of consolidated revenue; Ticketing generated $3.1 billion, or 12%; and Sponsorship & Advertising generated $1.3 billion, or 5%. These percentages are approximate because reported segment revenue includes transactions between segments that are eliminated in consolidation.[21] [2]

Company history

Live Nation Entertainment traces its roots to SFX Entertainment, a concert-promotion business acquired by Clear Channel Communications in 2000. Clear Channel separated its entertainment operations in December 2005, creating the publicly traded Live Nation, Inc.; Michael Rapino became its president and CEO that year.[22]

Live Nation expanded its venue business by acquiring House of Blues in 2006. In January 2010, it merged with Ticketmaster and adopted the name Live Nation Entertainment, Inc., bringing concert promotion and ticketing together under one company. Later expansions included a controlling stake in festival producer C3 Presents in 2014 and a controlling interest in Mexican live-entertainment company OCESA in 2021.[25] [23]
