Overview

Littelfuse, Inc. is a diversified industrial technology manufacturer whose products support the safe and reliable control and transfer of electrical energy. Its portfolio spans electronic components and power semiconductors, vehicle circuit-protection, power-control and sensing technologies, and industrial protection, controls and sensors. The company reports three operating segments: Electronics, Transportation and Industrial, serving applications that include data centers, vehicles, industrial equipment, energy storage and electricity infrastructure.[1]

Founded in 1927, Littelfuse states its purpose is “to shape solutions for the safe and efficient transfer of electrical energy.” It operates in more than 20 countries and has approximately 17,000 associates globally. For fiscal 2025, net sales were approximately $2.39 billion.[1] [1]

Products & services

Littelfuse’s products include circuit-protection, power-control and sensing components. Its Electronics portfolio includes fuses and accessories, resettable PTC fuses, ESD suppressors, varistors, gas-discharge tubes, TVS diodes and arrays, and protection thyristors; its semiconductor offerings also include power devices such as MOSFETs, rectifiers, IGBTs and wide-bandgap components. These products protect against conditions including voltage spikes, short circuits, power surges and electrostatic discharge.[8][9]

Transportation products include passenger-vehicle blade, battery-cable-protection, resettable, high-current and high-voltage fuses, as well as sensors. Commercial-vehicle products include fuses, switches, circuit breakers, relays and power-distribution modules or units. Industrial offerings include power-control products and semiconductor components used in applications such as renewable energy, energy storage, motor drives and power conversion.[4][9] Examples of specifically rated products include the NANO² 708 Series fuse, rated 60–200 A with a 14 kA interrupting rating at 80 VDC, and FlatSuppressX TP5.0SMD-FL and TP1KSMB-FL TVS diodes, rated at 5 kW and 1 kW respectively for 48 V automotive systems.[10][11]

For FY2025, product-line sales were approximately 28.1% Electronics–Semiconductor, 28.3% Electronics–Passive Products and Sensors, 13.4% Commercial Vehicle Products, 12.3% Passenger Car Products, 2.6% Automotive Sensors and 15.3% Industrial Products; percentages are calculated from reported product-line sales and total company sales.[12] The company also supports customers through engineering and design-in expertise, technical support and electronic testing services, including testing for overcurrent, overvoltage, ESD, application performance and compliance.[13] [8]

Geographic presence

In FY2025, Littelfuse reported operations in more than 20 countries and approximately 17,000 global associates; it did not disclose employee distribution by country or region. Its long-lived assets were reported in the United States, China, Mexico, Germany, the Philippines, and other countries.[1][16] The company describes its locations as spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia.[17]

FY2025 net sales by customer country were $830.3 million in the United States (34.8% of total), $571.6 million in China (24.0%), and $984.4 million in other countries (41.3%), out of $2,386.3 million total. Approximately 65% of sales were outside the United States; each country included in “other countries” represented less than 10% of sales.[16] Disclosed examples of operating sites include a manufacturing plant in Piedras Negras, Mexico; a 200mm wafer fab in Dortmund, Germany; and a manufacturing site in Malvar, Philippines.[20] [1]

Business segments

Littelfuse reports three business segments for fiscal 2025, ended December 27, 2025: Electronics, Transportation, and Industrial. Their approximate shares of total net sales are calculated from reported segment sales of $2,386.3 million [12].

Electronics generated $1,345.5 million, or approximately 56.4% of net sales. Its focus includes semiconductor and passive products and sensors, such as circuit-protection and power-control components [12].

Transportation generated $676.4 million, or approximately 28.3% of net sales. It serves passenger and commercial vehicles with protection, sensing, power distribution, switching, and related products [12].

Industrial generated $364.4 million, or approximately 15.3% of net sales. Its offerings include fuses, industrial controls, and temperature sensors for markets including data centers, industrial and building controls, utilities, construction, and renewable energy [12]. Geographic sales are disclosed separately and are not additional reportable segments [16]. [28]

Company history

Founded in 1927 by Edward V. Sundt as Littelfuse Laboratories, the company initially developed small, fast-acting fuses for protecting sensitive electrical instruments. Littelfuse identifies its invention of the automotive fuse in 1930 as an early milestone in its growth.[1]

From 2013 through 2018, Littelfuse expanded beyond its traditional fuse business through the acquisition of Hamlin, broadening its sensor capabilities, and the purchases of TE Connectivity’s circuit-protection business and IXYS, adding circuit-protection and power-semiconductor products.[31][29]

In the 2020s, acquisitions broadened its switches, controls, and electrical-safety businesses: Hartland Controls in 2021, Carling Technologies in 2021, C&K Switches in 2022, and Western Automation in 2023. In 2024, Littelfuse acquired Elmos Semiconductor’s Dortmund wafer fab, and in 2025 it completed the acquisition of Basler Electric.[32] In 2025, Greg Henderson became president and CEO, succeeding David Heinzmann.[37] [1]
