Products & services

Life360’s core product is its mobile app, which provides private location sharing, communications, driving safety and digital-safety features. The app is offered on Free, Silver, Gold and Platinum plans, with paid memberships adding premium services; features include place-arrival and departure alerts, SOS alerts that share a user’s location with Circle members and emergency contacts, and crash detection using phone sensors. Driving summaries report measures such as top speed, phone use, rapid acceleration and hard braking.[1] Membership services also include roadside assistance and identity-theft protection.[14][15]

The company also sells Tile Bluetooth trackers and Life360 Pet GPS hardware. Tile devices communicate with the app over Bluetooth and can be located through the Tile Network; Pet GPS uses GPS and cellular networks.[3] Other offerings include third-party advertising on Life360’s platform and publisher networks, and data and partnership services that use aggregated or de-identified information.[2] In Q2 2026, reported revenue was $115.636 million from subscriptions (about 72.8% of total), $9.806 million from hardware (6.2%), $21.966 million from advertising (13.8%) and $11.551 million from other revenue (7.3%), out of $158.959 million total; the company does not provide this revenue split by individual membership tier or app feature.[21] [1]

The cited filing does not give a geographic breakdown of employees.[26][27] [22]

Business segments

Life360 reports one operating segment, rather than separate reportable business or geographic segments. The chief operating decision maker assesses performance and allocates resources on a consolidated basis. The company’s revenue categories and product lines therefore describe its business mix, not independently reported segments.[26]

Its core product area is the Life360 app, which provides communications, location sharing, driving safety and digital safety features. Its hardware products include Tile Bluetooth trackers for locating items and Pet GPS devices for tracking pets; Tile also offers paid subscriptions and protection services, while Pet GPS requires a Life360 Gold or Platinum subscription.[28]

Company history

Life360 was founded in 2008 by Chris Hulls and Alex Haro, after Hulls conceived the idea of a family-safety service following Hurricane Katrina. The company won Google’s Android Developer Challenge that year; it launched an iPhone app in 2010 and reported reaching one million families in 2011, when it also introduced private family group messaging.[4]

In June 2024, the company completed a U.S. IPO and began trading on Nasdaq while retaining its ASX listing. In 2025, co-founder Chris Hulls became Executive Chairman as Lauren Antonoff took over as CEO, and Life360 announced its acquisition of Fantix’s advertising business.[36] [40]
