Overview
Lantheus Holdings, Inc. is a healthcare company focused on radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging. It develops, manufactures and commercializes products used to help clinicians detect and monitor disease, particularly cancer, and is expanding into radiotherapeutics. Its product categories include Radiopharmaceutical Oncology, Precision Diagnostics, and Strategic Partnerships and Other Revenue.[1] Key products include PYLARIFY for prostate cancer imaging, DEFINITY, an ultrasound contrast agent, and Neuraceq for Alzheimer’s disease imaging.[2] The company describes its purpose as enabling clinicians to “Find, Fight and Follow” disease and improve patient outcomes.[3]
Lantheus sells primarily to U.S. hospitals, imaging centers and government facilities, and reaches international markets through direct and third-party distribution and licensing, including in Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia-Pacific, Central America and South America.[4] Its headquarters are in Massachusetts, with additional offices in the U.S., Canada and Europe.[5] Revenue was approximately $1.54 billion in FY2025, and the company reports more than 1,000 employees worldwide.[6][7] Its history traces to New England Nuclear, founded in 1956.[3] [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][3][7]
Products & services
Lantheus’ commercial portfolio includes **PYLARIFY (piflufolastat F 18)**, an intravenous F-18 PET imaging agent targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). It is used to image PSMA-positive prostate-cancer lesions in patients with suspected metastasis being considered for initial definitive therapy or suspected recurrence based on elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA); the recommended dose is 333 MBq (9 mCi), within a 296–370 MBq range. **PYLARIFY TruVu** is a new formulation for the same indication, designed for improved stability at higher radioactive concentrations to support manufacturing and distribution.[8][9]
**Neuraceq (florbetaben F 18)** is a PET agent that binds beta-amyloid plaques. It is used to estimate brain amyloid plaque density in adults with cognitive impairment being evaluated for Alzheimer’s disease or other causes of cognitive decline, and its labeling supports selection for amyloid-targeting therapies; the recommended dose is 300 MBq (8.1 mCi). **DEFINITY (perflutren lipid microsphere injectable suspension)** is an intravenous ultrasound contrast agent used when echocardiograms are suboptimal, to opacify the left ventricle and improve endocardial-border delineation.[10][11]
Lantheus also provides **Pharma Solutions** for sponsors of clinical trials involving investigational radiodiagnostic imaging agents, including global supply, production coordination, site readiness, regulatory and operational support, import pathways, cold-chain management, and contingency supply. In the six months ended June 30, 2026, reported revenue was $481.3 million for PYLARIFY, $75.1 million for Neuraceq, and $172.9 million for DEFINITY—approximately 62.9%, 9.8%, and 22.6% of total revenue, respectively; these percentages are calculated from reported product and total revenue.[12][13] [8][9][10][11][13][12]
Geographic presence
At December 31, 2025, Lantheus listed facilities in the United States and Germany. Its U.S. locations included North Billerica and Bedford, Massachusetts; New York, New York; and Springfield, New Jersey. North Billerica was identified as its primary manufacturing, packaging and distribution facility. The company also listed an office in Berlin, Germany, associated with its Life Molecular business.[14][15]
The company does not disclose revenue by country or region in the cited annual filing, so a regional sales mix cannot be specified.[16][15] In January 2026, Lantheus sold its SPECT business and 292,215 square feet of its North Billerica campus, so the facility list above reflects the year-end 2025 footprint rather than the post-sale footprint.[17][18] [14][16][17][15][18]
Business segments
Lantheus reports one business segment: its chief operating decision maker reviews the company as a whole rather than managing separate businesses. Accordingly, the single reportable segment represents all consolidated revenue; Oncology, Neurology, Cardiology, and Strategic Partnerships and Other are product-revenue categories, not reportable segments.[19][20]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, product-category revenue was approximately 62.9% Oncology, 9.8% Neurology, 22.6% Cardiology, and 4.7% Strategic Partnerships and Other.[21] The categories include PYLARIFY, an F-18 PSMA PET imaging agent for prostate cancer, in Oncology; Neuraceq, an F-18 PET agent for amyloid imaging, in Neurology; and DEFINITY, an ultrasound-enhancing agent used in echocardiography, in Cardiology.[8][10][11] Strategic Partnerships and Other includes activity directed at radiopharmaceutical opportunities in oncology, neurology, and other complementary areas.[22] [19][20][21][8][10][11][22]
Company history
Lantheus traces its origins to New England Nuclear Corporation, founded in 1956. The medical-imaging business passed to DuPont in 1981 and then to Bristol Myers Squibb in 2001; DEFINITY, an ultrasound-enhancing agent, launched that year.[23][24] In January 2008, Avista Capital Partners formed Lantheus Holdings and acquired the medical-imaging business from Bristol Myers Squibb. Lantheus completed its initial public offering in June 2015, and its shares began trading on Nasdaq.[23]
The FDA approved AZEDRA in 2018. Lantheus expanded into oncology through its 2020 acquisition of Progenics Pharmaceuticals, which brought AZEDRA into its portfolio. In 2021, the FDA approved PYLARIFY, a PET imaging agent for prostate cancer.[25][26][27]
In 2024, the FDA approved Flyrcado, a PET imaging agent for cardiac imaging. Lantheus broadened its radiopharmaceutical capabilities with its acquisitions of Evergreen Theragnostics in April 2025 and Life Molecular Imaging in July 2025. On January 1, 2026, it completed the sale of its SPECT business to SHINE SPECT.[28][29][30][31] [23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][25][26][28]
