Overview
LandBridge Co LLC is a U.S. landowner and land manager whose business centers on monetizing surface, mineral, and water rights for energy and infrastructure development. Its revenues come primarily from surface-use arrangements, resource sales such as brackish water and surface materials, and oil and natural gas royalties.[1]
The company owns or manages more than 325,000 surface acres in the Delaware Basin and adjacent Central Basin Platform areas of the Permian Basin. Its land supports oil and gas development as well as activities including produced-water management, solar power, energy storage, digital infrastructure, and industrial uses. LandBridge describes its strategy as actively managing its land and resources to support development and generate long-term revenue and returns.[2] Revenue was $66.8 million in the second quarter of 2026; the reviewed company materials did not establish an employee count.[3] [1][2][3]
Products & services
LandBridge’s offerings are primarily land-use and resource-access rights rather than products manufactured by the company. It grants easements, rights-of-way, leases, facility-access and surface-use agreements that allow customers to build and operate infrastructure on its land; fees and royalties may be tied to land use, revenue or activity volumes.[1][4] Surface-use royalty activities include produced-water handling, associated skim-oil royalties, and solid-waste disposal and reclamation.[5]
Resource sales include brackish water, sold mainly for oil-and-gas well completions at negotiated per-barrel prices, and caliche, used for access roads and well pads and charged by cubic yard extracted.[6] LandBridge also earns royalties from customer-operated brackish-water wells and sand mines, generally based on barrels of water or tons of sand, as well as royalties on its oil-and-gas mineral interests.[7][8] In Q2 2026, brackish-water sales volume was 9.5 million barrels, down 17% year over year; the company also reported lower water sales and increased caliche sales.[9]
The company has also pursued land-use arrangements for power generation and digital infrastructure: a PowerBridge option covered up to approximately 3,400 acres for potential data-center and power-generation development.[10] This describes a proposed development opportunity, not an operating product or installed capacity. Geographic presence
LandBridge’s land footprint is concentrated in the Permian Basin, particularly its Delaware Basin and adjacent Central Basin Platform, across Texas and New Mexico. As of 2026, it reported owning more than 325,000 surface acres in the region; it also holds oil-and-gas mineral interests in the Texas Delaware Basin.[11][2][12] Its Texas holdings include Reeves, Loving, Winkler, Ward, Pecos, and Andrews counties; in New Mexico, it has holdings in Lea County.[13][14]
The company’s principal executive office is in Houston, Texas.[15][16] LandBridge reports one operating and reportable segment, with all assets in the United States; its filings do not provide a geographic breakdown of revenue or employee locations.[17][18] [11][2][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][14][16]
Business segments
LandBridge reports **one operating and reportable segment**, encompassing its consolidated business; acreage, water, and royalty activities are not reported as separate segments. The company’s CEO, as chief operating decision maker, evaluates performance and allocates resources using consolidated financial information. Thus, the single reported segment represents 100% of consolidated operations, but no separate contribution percentages are disclosed for its activities.[17][19]
Within that segment, revenue-generating activities include surface-use royalties; easements and other surface-related revenue; sales of resources such as brackish water and surface materials; resource royalties; and oil and gas royalties. These are revenue streams, not reported business segments.[1][5][20]
The latest full-year reporting available is FY2025, and the latest interim filing identified is Q2 2026; the interim filing continues to describe the company as operating in one segment.[17][19] [17][19][1][5][20][21][22]
Company history
LandBridge’s operating history began in October 2021, when Five Point Energy and its management team formed the business to establish a land position in the Delaware Basin. Its initial major transaction was the acquisition of Hanging H Ranch, about 72,000 surface acres in Loving and Reeves Counties, Texas. The present-day LandBridge Company LLC legal entity was formed in September 2023 as the planned issuer for the company’s initial public offering.[23][24][25]
In January 2024, Jason Long became CEO, following his tenure as co-CEO and COO. LandBridge completed its IPO and related corporate reorganization on July 1, 2024. It expanded its landholdings with the December 2024 acquisition of Wolf Bone Ranch, adding approximately 46,000 surface acres, and the November 2025 acquisition of 1918 Ranch & Royalty for approximately $263.9 million.[26][27][28][29][30] [23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][25]
