Overview

KION GROUP AG is a Germany-based provider of material-handling equipment and intralogistics solutions. Its offerings span forklifts and warehouse trucks, supply-chain automation, software, and related services, with Industrial Trucks & Services and Intelligent Automation Solutions as its two operating segments in 2026. Its brands include Linde, STILL, and Dematic. The company describes its purpose as helping supply chains reach their full potential and its vision as becoming “The Supply Chain Solutions Company.” [1]

KION says its equipment is used on six continents and its supply-chain solutions serve customers in more than 100 countries. It reported 2025 revenue of €11.3 billion and 42,403 employees measured in FTEs at June 30, 2026. The company was founded in 2006 following the separation of Linde AG’s forklift-truck business.[4] [3]

Products & services

KION’s Industrial Trucks & Services portfolio, marketed under Linde, STILL and Baoli internationally and Fenwick and OM regionally, includes electric, diesel and gas forklifts, counterbalanced forklifts, pallet trucks, stackers, reach trucks and order pickers. The company describes electric-drive options across many products, with performance that can be comparable to internal-combustion trucks.[6]

Services include truck rental and used trucks, fleet management, financial services, and ongoing equipment service. KION’s automation portfolio includes autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), Dematic Multishuttle systems for storage and buffering, AutoStore high-density robotic storage, and warehouse software covering warehouse management, execution and control systems; services also include maintenance, modernization and upgrades of installed equipment.[6]

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, Industrial Trucks & Services generated €4,072.4 million, or about 71.6%, and Intelligent Automation Solutions €1,614.6 million, or about 28.4%, of KION’s €5,687.3 million external-customer revenue. These are segment revenue shares, not product-versus-service percentages.[3] [6]

KION has a direct presence in around 40 countries and sells logistics solutions in more than 100 countries. Its industrial-truck and component manufacturing footprint includes 21 facilities in 10 countries: Belgium, Brazil, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Poland and the United States. Named production locations include Aschaffenburg and Hamburg in Germany, Xiamen in China, Pune in India, and Summerville in the United States; KION also identifies a spare-parts centre in Kahl am Main, Germany.[16]

Business segments

KION GROUP reports two operating segments: Industrial Trucks & Services (ITS) and Supply Chain Solutions (SCS). ITS covers industrial trucks and related automation and lifecycle solutions, including financial and logistics services supporting sales. SCS provides services and solutions across levels of supply-chain automation, up to full automation.[23]

In 2025, ITS generated €8,253.0 million, approximately 73.1% of group revenue from external customers; SCS generated €3,042.8 million, approximately 26.9% of the €11,297.2 million total. These percentages are calculated from the reported segment figures. Corporate Services appears separately in the segment table, but is not one of the two reported operating segments.[24][23] [23]

Company history

KION GROUP was formed in 2006 when Linde separated its material-handling business, bringing together operations including Linde Material Handling, STILL and OM. The brands had earlier origins: Linde Material Handling traces its roots to 1904 and STILL was founded in 1920.[25][26]

Weichai Power became a strategic investor in 2012. KION went public in 2013, with shares beginning to trade in June.[27][28]

From 2015, KION expanded into automation and warehouse systems: it acquired Egemin Group’s Handling Automation division in 2015, then acquired Retrotech and added Dematic in 2016. The Dematic acquisition broadened the group from industrial trucks into automated supply-chain and warehouse solutions.[29] [25]
