Products & services
Kerry Group’s product portfolio is centered on ingredient and taste systems for food, beverage and pharma applications, with particular emphasis on taste modulation, nutrition and functionality. Its Tastesense™ range is used for sugar- and salt-reduction applications; Kerry says Tastesense™ Sweetness is designed to reduce sugar while maintaining taste, mouthfeel and clean-label positioning, and the company has also reported a launch of Tastesense™ Advanced with 50% to 100% sugar reduction capability. In category use, Kerry has highlighted Tastesense™ salt-reduction technologies in snacks and Tastesense™ sugar-reduction technologies in beverages, alongside botanicals, natural extracts, preservation systems and other taste systems.[13][14][15][16][17][18]
Kerry’s Nutrition, Wellness & Functionality portfolio is described as delivering benefits such as immunity support, digestive health, cleaner labels and preservation through a technology base that includes proteins, probiotics and bioactives, lipids, enzymes, bio-preservation and pharma.[19] Named ingredients include BC30™, a shelf-stable spore-forming probiotic positioned for digestive health, immune health and protein absorption in everyday food and beverage formats, and Wellmune®, a proprietary baker’s yeast beta 1,3/1,6 glucan postbiotic that Kerry markets as a clinically studied immune-support ingredient.[20][21] Kerry also offers clean-label and conventional food protection and preservation systems, including vinegar-based antimicrobials, fermentates, plant extracts and label-friendly multifunctional systems, with natural shelf-life extension positioned as a way to reduce food waste; the company also cites bakery and meat as major end uses for these technologies.[22][23][24][25][26]
Beyond ingredient sales, Kerry provides product-development and technical services spanning ideation, development and testing, recipe fine-tuning, scale-up and manufacturing, supported by consumer-insights, sensory, regulatory and reformulation offerings.[27][28][29][30][31] Its nutritional-enhancement tools include nutritional profiling that classifies ingredients as positive, balanced or poor in application and nutrient analysis based on raw materials and formulation inputs.[32][33][34][35] In reported performance terms, Taste & Nutrition accounted for about 86.2% of Kerry Group’s 2024 external revenue, indicating that these product and service lines make up the large majority of the company’s business.[36] [13][14][15][16][17][19][22][23][24][32][33][34][35][36][18][20][21][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]

Business segments
Kerry Group’s officially reported operating segments in FY2024 were **Taste & Nutrition** and **Dairy Ireland**. Taste & Nutrition is described as the group’s provider of taste and nutrition solutions for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical markets, while Dairy Ireland is described as its Irish dairy business, spanning value-added dairy ingredients and consumer products [43][44][45]. Based on external revenue of €7,980.6 million, Taste & Nutrition contributed about **86.2%** (€6,879.0 million) and Dairy Ireland about **13.8%** (€1,101.6 million) [36].
Within those segments, **Taste & Nutrition** is positioned around solutions for customers in food, beverage and pharma, and the business review highlights Sustainable Nutrition, Emerging Markets and Foodservice as key strategic platforms within that segment [46][47][48][49]. **Dairy Ireland** comprises two main activity sets: **Dairy Consumer Products** such as cheese, cheese snacks, dairy snacks and spreads, and **Dairy Ingredients**, including functional dairy proteins, nutritional dairy bases, cheese systems and related agribusiness products and services [45].
Kerry also provides an additional official revenue segmentation by end-use market. On that basis, FY2024 external revenue was approximately **70.5% food** (€5,623.3 million), **23.3% beverage** (€1,861.3 million), and **6.2% pharma & other** (€496.0 million); nearly all beverage and all pharma & other revenue sat within Taste & Nutrition, while Dairy Ireland was concentrated in food [50]. The company noted that its reportable segment structure would change from 2025, so the Taste & Nutrition / Dairy Ireland split is the official basis for FY2024 reporting [51]. Company history
Kerry Group began operations in 1972 from a greenfield site in Listowel, County Kerry, with origins in the dairy-farming community of North Kerry.[52][53] The company was incorporated in 1986 and listed its shares in Dublin the same year, marking its transition from its co-operative roots to a publicly traded group.[54] In the 1990s it accelerated its expansion through acquisitions, including the addition of DCA in 1994 and Dalgety’s food ingredients businesses in 1998, which helped build its international ingredients platform.[55][56]
Leadership also evolved as the business grew: Stan McCarthy became Group CEO on 1 January 2008, and Edmond Scanlon was appointed Chief Executive Designate in February 2017 before taking over as Group CEO on 1 October 2017.[57][58][59] In the 2020s, Kerry reshaped its legacy consumer and dairy portfolio, disposing of its Meats and Meals business in 2021, completing that separation in 2022, and completing the sale of Kerry Dairy Ireland on 31 December 2024.[60][61][62] [57][58][59][60][61][62][52][53][54][55][56]
