Overview
Insulet Corporation is a medical-device company focused on diabetes care. Its core business is developing, manufacturing, and selling insulin-delivery systems, led by the Omnipod platform, including tubeless automated insulin-delivery and DASH systems. It also makes drug-delivery devices for other companies. Insulet describes its mission as “Transform the lives of people with diabetes.” [1][2][3]
Founded in 2000, Insulet sells products internationally; its website lists availability in 26 countries. At the end of 2025, it had approximately 5,400 full-time employees across the United States and 17 other countries. For fiscal 2025, the company reported $2.7 billion in Omnipod revenue and $34.1 million in Drug Delivery revenue.[4][5][6][7] [1][2][3][6][7][4][5]
Products & services
Insulet’s principal product family is Omnipod, a tubeless insulin-delivery system built around a small, self-adhesive disposable Pod that is filled with insulin and worn for up to three days. The Pod automatically inserts its cannula and delivers insulin without conventional pump tubing; it is waterproof to IP28 standards, rated for immersion up to 25 feet for 60 minutes.[8][9] Omnipod 5 is the company’s automated insulin delivery system, integrating with compatible continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and controlled by a compatible smartphone or Omnipod 5 Controller. The company also sells Omnipod DASH, whose Pod communicates by Bluetooth with a touchscreen Personal Diabetes Manager; Classic Omnipod is being phased out.[10]
Omnipod 5 compatibility varies by market and includes Dexcom G6/G7 and Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus; in the U.S., compatibility with Libre 3 Plus expanded in June 2026. Insulet also offers Omnipod Discover, a data and reporting platform for users, caregivers and healthcare providers, with trend information and provider insights.[10][11] Customer support includes online onboarding and training, tailored transition programs, and training delivered by field clinicians and distributors.[12]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, Omnipod revenue was $1,554.3 million and Drug Delivery revenue was $9.1 million, approximately 99.4% and 0.6% of the combined total, respectively (calculated from reported amounts). Drug Delivery revenue is substantially from sales of Pods to Amgen for the Neulasta Onpro delivery kit.[13][14][15] [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]
Geographic presence
Insulet’s products are sold in the United States, Europe, Canada, the Middle East and Australia, directly or through intermediaries. Its listed markets include 25 countries, spanning the U.S. and Canada, Australia, several European countries, and markets in the Middle East. In the six months ended June 30, 2026, Omnipod revenue was $1,059.7 million in the U.S. and $494.6 million internationally—approximately 68.2% and 31.8%, respectively, of Omnipod revenue across those two reported geographies. The filing does not provide a country-level sales breakdown.
Insulet’s manufacturing footprint includes Acton, Massachusetts, and Johor, Malaysia; its 2025 annual filing also described investment in a manufacturing plant in Costa Rica and a third-party manufacturer operating device-production lines in China. The company’s listed offices include its Acton headquarters and locations in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Spain and the UAE. Insulet states that it has 2,900 U.S.-based employees, but the available sources do not provide a global employee distribution by location. [13][14][16][17][18][19][5][20][5][20]
Business segments
Insulet reports one operating and reportable segment, with no separately named segment. It develops, manufactures, and sells its insulin-delivery systems; this single segment accounted for 100% of FY2025 consolidated revenue, or $2,708.1 million.[21][22]
Within that business, the Omnipod platform—including Omnipod 5, Omnipod DASH, and Classic Omnipod—is the principal focus and generates most revenue. Insulet also describes drug-delivery devices based on the Omnipod platform; substantially all Drug Delivery revenue comes from pod sales to Amgen for its Neulasta Onpro kit. These are product areas, not separately reported segments, and the company does not disclose their individual revenue contributions.[9][16] [21][22][9][16]
Company history
Insulet was founded in 2000. Its first Omnipod insulin-management system received FDA approval in January 2005, and U.S. commercial sales began that October.[23][24]
In 2011, the company acquired diabetes-supplies distributor Neighborhood Diabetes; it later agreed to divest that business in 2016. In 2018, Omnipod DASH received FDA clearance, and Insulet transitioned to direct operations in Europe.[25][26][27][28]
FDA cleared the Omnipod 5 automated insulin-delivery system in 2022, the same year Jim Hollingshead became CEO. In 2024, Insulet opened a manufacturing facility in Malaysia and received FDA clearance to expand Omnipod 5 use to adults with type 2 diabetes. Ashley McEvoy became President and CEO in 2025.[29][30][31] [32][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31]
