Company history
Ingredion’s roots date to 1906, when Corn Products Refining Company was formed through the merger of U.S. corn refiners. It expanded into Canada in 1919 with the acquisition of Canada Starch Company. In 1958, Corn Products merged with The Best Foods, Inc. to form Corn Products Company; the business took the name CPC International in 1969. In 1997, Corn Products International was spun off from CPC International.[22][23]
The company broadened its specialty-ingredients business with the 2010 acquisition of National Starch. On June 4, 2012, Corn Products International changed its name to Ingredion Incorporated. Further additions included Penford Corporation and Kerr Concentrates in 2015, TIC Gums in 2016, and KaTech in 2021.[22][24][25] [22][23][24][25]
