Company profile

IDEAYA Biosciences, Inc.

Updated

Overview

IDEAYA Biosciences, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on precision-medicine oncology. It discovers and develops targeted cancer therapies, including treatments and combination approaches for molecularly defined solid tumors. Its pipeline includes candidates aimed at targets such as PKC, DLL3, PARG and the MAT2A pathway; it had no products approved for sale at the end of 2025.[1]

The company’s stated purpose is to develop transformative cancer therapies for patients with unmet medical needs. Incorporated in 2015, IDEAYA is headquartered in South San Francisco, California, and has facilities in South San Francisco and San Diego.[4][5]

At December 31, 2025, IDEAYA had 145 employees. As a clinical-stage company without approved products, it had no product-sales revenue; its business remained centered on research and development.[6] [1]

Products & services

IDEAYA Biosciences’ product portfolio consists of oncology drug candidates; none was approved for sale as of its 2026 second-quarter reporting. The company reported no product-sales revenue, and its disclosed revenue came from collaborations rather than product sales.[9][10]

Its lead candidate, darovasertib, is an oral, selective protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor being developed for uveal melanoma (UM). It is studied alone and with crizotinib, including in metastatic UM and as neoadjuvant or adjuvant treatment for primary UM.[11] IDE397 is an oral MAT2A inhibitor, and IDE892 is an oral MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor; both target MTAP-deleted solid tumors and are being evaluated alone or in combination.[15][16]

IDE849 (SHR-4849) is a DLL3-targeted topoisomerase-I antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) in development for small-cell lung cancer and neuroendocrine carcinomas.[17] IDE161 is an oral PARG inhibitor being studied alone and in combination with IDE849, while IDE034 is a B7H3/PTK7 bispecific topoisomerase-I ADC.[18][19] IDE574 is an oral dual KAT6/7 inhibitor being evaluated in breast, lung, prostate and colorectal cancers.[20]

For the six months ended June 30, 2026, IDEAYA reported $15.417 million in collaboration revenue, which represented all reported revenue; it did not report candidate-level sales or revenue.[21][10] [9]

Geographic presence

IDEAYA Biosciences is based in South San Francisco, California, where it reported approximately 44,000 square feet of laboratory and office facilities. The company also refers to leased facilities in San Diego, California; its filings do not specify their functions or provide a geographic breakdown of employees.[22]

Its clinical development spans multiple regions: the company describes global trials and reports partner Hengrui Pharma’s multi-site Phase 1 evaluation of IDE849 in China, with a Phase 3 trial in China planned. IDEAYA does not own or operate manufacturing facilities and relies on third parties, including foreign manufacturers, for clinical and potential commercial supply.[14]

The reviewed filings do not report revenue or sales by country or region. IDEAYA has licensed darovasertib to Servier outside the United States, but this arrangement does not constitute a geographic product-sales breakdown.[27][28] [22]

Business segments

IDEAYA Biosciences reports one operating and reportable segment: oncology-focused precision-medicine research and development. Its 2026 second-quarter filing and 2025 annual filing both identify a single segment; therefore, the company does not disclose percentage contributions across multiple segments.[29][30]

Within that single segment, the company organizes its pipeline around therapeutic and disease focus areas, not separately reported business segments. These include darovasertib for uveal melanoma; antibody-drug conjugates and DNA-damage-response combinations; programs targeting MTAP deficiency; and KAT6/7 inhibitors.[31]

No distinct segment-level revenue or operating-contribution percentages are reported. IDEAYA states it has not generated product revenue; reported revenue has consisted of collaboration revenue, including $15.417 million for the six months ended June 30, 2026.[10][21] [29]

Company history

IDEAYA Biosciences was incorporated in Delaware in June 2015, with Yujiro S. Hata identified as its founder.[36][37] In 2018, the company licensed Novartis’s Phase 1 PKC inhibitor LXS196, later called IDE196 (darovasertib); it began clinical testing in 2019 and completed an initial public offering that year, with its shares listed on Nasdaq as IDYA.[38]

In 2020, IDEAYA entered a strategic research collaboration with GSK focused on synthetic-lethality drug programs.[41][42] In 2023, it selected a Phase 2 expansion dose for its MAT2A inhibitor IDE397; in 2024, it expanded its development portfolio through selection of IDE034, a bispecific antibody-drug conjugate, and a license for the DLL3-targeting ADC IDE849.[43] In 2025, IDEAYA partnered with Servier on development of darovasertib, including trials in uveal melanoma.[46] [36]
