HEARTFLOW INC

Updated

Overview

Heartflow, Inc. is a medical technology company focused on non-invasive diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease. Its AI- and computational-fluid-dynamics-based platform uses coronary CT angiography scans to create patient-specific heart models and assess blood flow, coronary plaque, and anatomy. Its products include FFRCT Analysis, Plaque Analysis, RoadMap Analysis, and PCI Navigator, which supports revascularization planning.[1]

Heartflow describes its aim as advancing the “CCTA + Heartflow” pathway as a standard for non-invasive coronary artery disease diagnosis and management. Its platform had been used at more than 1,800 institutions and to assess more than 750,000 patients worldwide; the company lists wholly owned subsidiaries in Japan and the United Kingdom.[2] Revenue was $176.0 million in 2025. Incorporated in 2007 as Cardiovascular Simulation, Inc., the company adopted the Heartflow name in 2009 and began commercializing its platform in 2015.[10][11] [1]

Products & services

Heartflow’s Heartflow Platform uses artificial intelligence and computational fluid dynamics to convert coronary CT angiography (CCTA) scans into personalized 3D heart models, with information on blood flow, stenosis, and plaque volume and composition. The company reported that the platform had assessed coronary artery disease in more than 750,000 patients by June 30, 2026.[2] Heartflow FFRCT Analysis estimates blood flow along major coronary arteries from a CCTA scan and identifies potentially significant disease, using an FFR threshold of 0.80 or lower; its stated indication covers 40%–90% coronary stenosis.[5][12]

Heartflow Plaque Analysis assesses and quantifies coronary plaque, including its volume and composition along major arteries, to inform medical treatment; its stated indication covers 1%–69% stenosis.[6][13] Heartflow RoadMap Analysis provides anatomic visualization to help physicians locate relevant coronary areas and is described as an integrated feature rather than a stand-alone product.[4] Heartflow PCI Navigator, launched in April 2026, provides visualization and clinical insights intended to support revascularization planning, device selection, and procedural efficiency; it is also an integrated feature.[7]

The service workflow includes secure transmission of CCTA images from enabled accounts to Heartflow’s cloud platform. Physicians can order FFRCT Analysis, Plaque Analysis, or both, and the company charges usage-based fees for each delivered analysis.[14] FFRCT Analysis represented 98% of revenue as of December 31, 2025; the 2026 second-quarter filing described substantially all revenue as coming from FFRCT and/or Plaque Analysis but did not give updated product-specific percentages.[17][12] [2]

Geographic presence

HeartFlow’s revenue is concentrated in the United States: in 2025, $162.7 million, or approximately 92.4% of revenue, was attributed to the U.S. and $13.3 million, or 7.6%, to the rest of the world. In the first half of 2026, the split was $109.3 million U.S. (93.7%) and $7.4 million rest of world (6.3%). The company attributes revenue by the region of the contracting entity, which may differ from the customer’s location; its filings do not provide a country-level breakdown outside the U.S.[18]

HeartFlow’s FY2025 filing identified Mountain View, California, as its headquarters and listed offices in Santa Rosa, San Francisco and Rohnert Park, California; Austin, Texas; and Tokyo, Japan.[21] The company reported approximately 700 employees worldwide at December 31, 2025, with the majority in the U.S. and no more than 25 in the U.K.; it did not provide a full geographic employee breakdown.[22] Its current materials describe product availability in the U.S. and Europe, including the EU and U.K., with some functionality also available in Japan, Canada and other select regions.[23] [18]

Business segments

Heartflow reports one operating and reportable segment: non-invasive coronary artery disease detection solutions. This segment accounts for 100% of reported company revenue; the company does not disclose revenue contributions across multiple reportable segments.[24]

As an alternative product view—not a formal segment breakdown—FFRCT Analysis accounted for approximately 98% of total revenue at year-end 2025. The remaining product revenue is not separately quantified in the cited disclosure, so individual contributions from other products cannot be estimated reliably.[17] [24][17]

Company history

HeartFlow traces its origins to Cardiovascular Simulation, Inc., founded in 2007 by Charles A. Taylor and Christopher K. Zarins; the company adopted the HeartFlow name in 2010.[25][26] Its FFRCT technology received CE marking in 2011 and FDA De Novo authorization in November 2014, followed by a 510(k) clearance for a later product version in January 2015.[27] HeartFlow began commercializing the platform in 2015.[30]

The company expanded its product portfolio with FDA clearances for Plaque Analysis and RoadMap Analysis in 2022, the year John Farquhar became CEO.[31][32] In 2023, it closed a $215 million Series F financing and announced its HeartFlow ONE portfolio.[33][34] HeartFlow priced its initial public offering in August 2025, and in 2026 reported launching PCI Navigator.[35][7] [27]
