Products & services
Guardant Health’s oncology tests include Guardant360 Liquid and Guardant360 CDx, blood-based genomic profiling tests for advanced solid tumors, and Guardant360 Tissue, a tissue-based test. The 2025 product description specifies that Guardant360 CDx profiles 74 genes and supports treatment selection, including FDA-approved companion-diagnostic uses; results are typically delivered within five days of sample receipt. Guardant360 Liquid CDx, approved in 2026, combines genomic and epigenomic insights, with the company describing its genomic footprint as 100 times wider than the prior CDx.[1][9][10]
Guardant Reveal is a tissue-free blood test for residual disease and recurrence monitoring in early-stage colorectal, breast and lung cancers, and is also used to monitor therapy response in solid tumors. Its expanded test tracks more than 20,000 epigenomic methylation signals to assess changes in circulating tumor DNA without requiring a tumor-tissue sample. Shield is a blood-based primary colorectal cancer screening test for average-risk adults aged 45 and older. For the updated Shield V2 algorithm, Guardant reported 84% sensitivity and 90% specificity; the company also describes Shield as FDA-approved and eligible for Medicare coverage.[9][11][12][13]
For biopharmaceutical research, Guardant offers GuardantINFINITY, a blood test designed to provide multidimensional tumor-profile and immune-response insights, and GuardantOMNI, a blood test for advanced-stage cancer. Related offerings include GuardantINFORM, an in-silico research platform using testing data and analytics, companion-diagnostic development and support, and GuardantConnect referral services. The company’s Smart Platform combines genomic, epigenomic, methylation and RNA-based data with proprietary chemistry and algorithms.[9][14][15]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, reported revenue was categorized as Oncology ($424.1 million; approximately 66.6%), Biopharma and data ($113.9 million; 17.9%), Screening ($94.5 million; 14.8%), and Licensing and other ($4.2 million; 0.7%), out of $636.6 million total. These are revenue-stream categories, not revenue reported separately for each named product.[16][16][16][16][16] [1][9][9][12][14][15][16][16][16][16][16][10][11][13][10][11][13]

It identifies its headquarters in Palo Alto, California, and laboratories in Redwood City, Palo Alto, and San Diego, California, and Long Island City, New York. Clinical testing is conducted in Redwood City and Long Island City; facilities in Redwood City, San Diego, and Palo Alto also support research and technology development.[17][5]
The company’s official locations page also lists an office in Tokyo, Japan. Its latest annual reporting does not break out revenue or employees by country or region, so geographic percentages and regional employee distribution are not available from those disclosures.[6][18][19][20] [17][5][6][18][19][20][6]
Business segments
Guardant Health reports one operating and reportable segment; its co-CEOs review consolidated financial information for resource allocation and performance assessment. The company’s revenue categories are not separately reported business segments.[21][22]
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue was categorized as Oncology ($424.1 million; approximately 66.6%), Biopharma and data ($113.9 million; 17.9%), Screening ($94.5 million; 14.8%), and Licensing and other ($4.2 million; 0.7%), out of $636.6 million total revenue. These percentages are approximate shares of total revenue, not segment contributions.[16]
Oncology revenue primarily reflects testing for clinical customers, including tests delivered through strategic partners. Biopharma and data includes testing and services for biopharma customers, including companion-diagnostic work and data and referral services. Screening includes Shield blood tests for cancer screening; Licensing and other includes technology licensing and other revenue. The company’s revenue-category presentation has changed over time, with some categories previously included within broader revenue groupings; this did not change its single-segment reporting.[23][15][24][25][26][27] [21][22][16][23][15][24][25][26][27]
Company history
Guardant Health was founded in 2012 by Helmy Eltoukhy and AmirAli Talasaz to develop blood-based tests for cancer. It introduced Guardant360, its liquid-biopsy genomic profiling test, in 2014, and became a public company in 2018, listing on Nasdaq under the ticker GH.[3][28][29][30]
In 2020, the FDA approved Guardant360 CDx, a liquid-biopsy companion diagnostic for cancer treatment selection. In 2021, the founders became co-CEOs, and Guardant launched Guardant Reveal for residual-disease and recurrence monitoring in early-stage colorectal cancer; that year, Japan also approved Guardant360 CDx for advanced solid cancers.[31][32][33][34]
Guardant completed its purchase of the remaining interest in Guardant Health AMEA in 2022, taking full ownership of the regional joint venture. In 2024, the FDA approved Shield as a primary colorectal-cancer screening option for average-risk adults aged 45 and older. CMS granted Shield Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory Test status in 2025, and in May 2026 the FDA approved an expanded Guardant360 Liquid CDx panel.[35][36][37][10] [34][3][28][29][30][31][32][33][35][36][37][10]
