The company’s principal executive office is at Cra. 48 # 26-85, Medellín, Colombia.[14] The reviewed 2Q26 and 2025 filings do not provide country-level revenue shares or employee distributions.[7][15] [7][15][14]
Business segments
For FY2025, Grupo Cibest reported geographic banking segments in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and International Banking, as well as a separate Leases segment and “All other segments.” Banking Colombia focuses on banking operations in Colombia; the other named banking segments cover their respective geographies, while Leases represents the leasing business. The report groups holding, investment, fiduciary, technology, innovation, capital-markets and special-purpose-vehicle activities in “All other segments.” [4][16]
Using each segment’s FY2025 “Total operating income / (Expenses), net” as a share of the COP 23,616,411 million total for continuing segments, approximate contributions were: Banking Colombia 74.3%; Banking El Salvador 7.2%; Leases 6.7%; All other segments 6.0%; Banking Guatemala 3.6%; and International Banking 2.2%. These are shares of net operating income, not gross revenue or net income; Panama’s discontinued-operation results are excluded from the denominator.[4]
The FY2025 segment schedule is distinct from other customer, borrower or product classifications used in company reporting. The latest materials reviewed also included 2Q26 results, but the FY2025 schedule was the latest complete audited segment allocation identified.[17][18][19] [4][16][17][18][19][20][21]
Company history
Grupo Cibest’s corporate lineage includes Banco de Colombia, founded in Medellín in 1875, and Banco Industrial Colombiano (BIC), established in 1945. BIC listed American depositary receipts on the New York Stock Exchange in 1995 and merged with Banco de Colombia in 1998 to form Bancolombia. In 2005, Bancolombia merged with Conavi and Corfinsura, a major consolidation that formed Grupo Bancolombia.[22]
The group expanded across Central America through acquisitions: it acquired Banagrícola in 2007, acquired Banistmo in 2013, and took a stake in Grupo Agromercantil in 2013, increasing that holding in 2015 and acquiring the remaining shares in 2020.[23] In 2025, Bancolombia shareholders received equivalent shares in Grupo Cibest as part of a corporate restructuring that made Cibest the listed parent; trading in its shares began on May 19. Juan Carlos Mora, Bancolombia’s CEO since 2016, became Grupo Cibest’s CEO on April 30, 2025.[24][25] In 2026, the group completed the sale of its Banistmo subsidiary to Banco La Hipotecaria.[26] [23][24][25][26][22]
