Business segments

Great Wall Motor reports **one business segment**: the production and sale of automobiles and automotive parts and components. Management evaluates this activity as a whole rather than reporting separate operating segments for vehicles, parts or individual brands.[20]

These are revenue categories, not separately reported segments, and do not include all operating revenue.[21][22] On a geographic basis, revenue from customers in China accounted for approximately 60% of 2024 total operating revenue, with customers in other countries accounting for approximately 40%.[22] [20]

Company history

Great Wall Motor traces its history to Baoding Great Wall Motor Industry Company, where Wei Jianjun joined as general manager in 1990. The company listed its H shares in Hong Kong on 15 December 2003 and its A shares in Shanghai on 28 September 2011.[23][24]

In 2018, it launched the ORA electric-vehicle brand and introduced the all-electric ORA iQ. TANK was announced as a stand-alone brand in 2021.[25] [23]
