Company history
Getinge traces its origins to 1904, when Olander Larsson established an agricultural-equipment business in Getinge, Sweden. In 1932, the company began producing steam sterilizers, marking its expansion into healthcare equipment; it was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1993.[5]
A series of acquisitions broadened its healthcare businesses: Arjo in 1995 added patient-care products, Maquet in 2000 expanded its surgical offering, and acquisitions in 2003 and 2008 added cardiac-surgery, ventilation, anesthesia and cardiovascular capabilities.[23][24] In 2017, Getinge distributed its Patient & Post-Acute Care business to shareholders as the separately listed Arjo; Mattias Perjos became Getinge’s President and CEO that year.[25][26] Acquisitions in 2023–24 added businesses in infection control, bioprocessing and organ transport.[24] [23][24][5][25][26]
