Overview

GE Vernova Inc. operates in the electricity and energy sector through three core businesses: Power, Wind, and Electrification. Its portfolio spans power-generation technologies and services, onshore and offshore wind turbines, and grid, power-conversion, storage, and related software solutions. The company describes its mission as “to electrify to thrive and decarbonize the world.” [1]

GE Vernova serves customers worldwide and reported approximately 70,000 employees at December 31, 2025, based on its rounded regional counts. For FY2025, it reported total revenue of $38.068 billion.[2] [1]

Products & services

GE Vernova’s product portfolio includes gas and steam turbines, nuclear reactor technology and fuel, hydropower equipment, wind turbines, and grid and energy-storage systems. Its gas-turbine range serves utility-scale, industrial and mobile applications; the 7HA is listed at 290–430 MW in simple cycle and 63–64% net combined-cycle efficiency, while the 9HA is listed at 448–571 MW in simple cycle and more than 64% combined-cycle efficiency.[11][12] The wind portfolio includes the 6.1 MW-158m onshore turbine, with a 4.8–6.1 MW nameplate range, and the Haliade-X 14.7 MW-220 offshore turbine.[13][14] Hydropower offerings include Francis, Kaplan and Pelton turbines; the company lists Pelton applications for heads of 200–1,800 metres.[15]

Other offerings include boiling-water-reactor technology, nuclear fuel and support services, small modular reactor development, steam turbines, transformers, and HVDC transmission systems using line-commutated or voltage-source converters.[16] Its GridBeats portfolio provides grid-automation software; FACTS/STATCOM solutions support reactive power and grid stability; and FLEXINVERTER and FLEXRESERVOIR offerings address battery storage, with FLEXRESERVOIR integrating a battery block, inverter and energy-management system.[23] Services include turbine maintenance, upgrades and lifecycle support, hydropower services—including for equipment made by other manufacturers—and support for nuclear and steam-power assets.[27] In FY2025, segment revenue was $19.767 billion for Power, $9.110 billion for Wind and $9.642 billion for Electrification, out of $38.519 billion in total segment revenue; these are approximately 51%, 24% and 25%, respectively, calculated from the reported figures.[29] [16]

Geographic presence

In its FY2025 reporting, GE Vernova described its workforce as globally distributed, with approximately 24,000 employees in Europe, 21,000 in the United States, 19,000 in Asia and 6,000 in Latin America [8][9]. The filing also refers to employees in China (3,000), India (2,000), Canada (700), Brazil (700) and Mexico (175) [30][31]. These figures describe workforce presence, not revenue distribution. The FY2025 filing does not provide a country- or region-level revenue breakdown [32].

GE Vernova’s regional pages describe operating footprints across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The Americas page reports 55+ manufacturing and major facilities across the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico; the Europe page reports 60+ manufacturing and engineering sites, with an installed base spanning 50+ countries [33][34]. For Asia-Pacific, the company lists facilities and service centers across 22+ countries and regions, including 26 manufacturing facilities; its India page reports nine manufacturing sites and five technology and engineering centers [35][36]. Business segments

GE Vernova reports three operating segments: Power, Wind, and Electrification. On the FY2025 segment-revenue basis, Power generated $19.767 billion, approximately 51.3% of total segment revenue. Its focus includes power-generation technologies and related equipment and services across gas, nuclear, hydro, and steam.[2] Wind generated $9.110 billion, approximately 23.6%, from onshore and offshore wind technologies and related products and services, including wind turbines, blades, and services.[4] Electrification generated $9.642 billion, approximately 25.0%, and focuses on grid solutions, power conversion and storage, and software supporting electricity transmission, distribution, conversion, storage, and orchestration.[5] Shares are calculated from the three segments’ reported FY2025 revenues, which total $38.519 billion; the filing reports $38.068 billion in total company revenues after other revenues and intersegment eliminations.[29][40] [2]

Company history

GE Vernova’s historical roots trace to General Electric, formed in 1892 through the merger of Edison General Electric and Thomson-Houston; an earlier predecessor, Edison Electric Illuminating Company, opened New York’s first central power station in 1882. GE entered wind energy in 2002 by acquiring assets from Enron Wind.[41] In 2014, GE launched its 9HA gas turbine, and in 2015 it completed the acquisition of Alstom’s power and grid businesses, combining them with GE Power & Water to form GE Power. GE Renewable Energy later introduced its Cypress onshore wind platform in 2018.[44]

In November 2021, GE announced plans to separate into three public companies, including a standalone energy company bringing together its renewable energy, power and digital businesses. GE announced the GE Vernova name in 2022. The separation from GE was completed in April 2024, when GE Vernova began trading independently on the New York Stock Exchange.[47] [41]
