Gartner, Inc. is a global research and advisory company that helps business and technology leaders make decisions on important organizational priorities. Its stated purpose is to provide actionable, objective insights that support better decisions and performance. Its principal offerings are subscription-based research, data and benchmarks, alongside conferences and consulting services.[1]

Gartner serves organizations across industries and business functions, including technology leaders and executives in other roles. In 2025, it served more than 13,000 distinct client enterprises, with clients in approximately 90 countries and territories across six continents. It reported revenue of about $6.5 billion for 2025 and had 20,244 employees at year-end.[2] [1]

Products & services

Gartner’s principal product is subscription-based Insights, which gives clients on-demand access to research, data, benchmarks and business and technology experts. Its offerings include Gartner for IT Leaders, which provides technology-focused research and decision support, and Executive Programs, which provides advisory support for senior executives. Research products include Magic Quadrant assessments of vendors, Hype Cycle analyses of technology maturity, and Critical Capabilities comparisons of products against specific use cases. Gartner Peer Insights provides user reviews of technology products and services. AskGartner is an AI-powered tool for accessing licensed Gartner insights.[2]

Gartner also runs conferences for business and technology decision-makers, offering expert-led sessions, workshops, analyst meetings and peer exchange. Its consulting services provide custom analysis and support for technology initiatives, including IT cost optimization, digital transformation and IT sourcing. In 2025, Insights accounted for approximately 78% of revenue, Conferences 10% and Consulting 9%; the remaining revenue was reported in Other.[3] [2]

Geographic presence

Gartner reports revenue across three geographic regions. In 2025, the United States and Canada accounted for $4.03 billion, or 62.1% of total revenue; Europe, the Middle East and Africa accounted for $1.69 billion, or 26.1%; and Other International accounted for $771 million, or 11.9%. The United States was the only individual country that generated at least 10% of consolidated revenue from external clients.[18][19]

Gartner is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. It identifies other important locations in Fort Myers, Florida; Irving, Texas; London, United Kingdom; Gurgaon, India; and Barcelona, Spain. At year-end 2025, it leased approximately 15 domestic and 70 international office properties. Of its 20,244 employees, 9,994—about 49%—were located outside the United States.[20][8] [18]

Business segments

Gartner reports three business segments: Business and Technology Insights (Insights), Conferences, and Consulting. Insights, formerly called Research, sells subscriptions to published insights, data and benchmarks, and access to experts. Conferences organizes events for learning and networking, while Consulting provides custom analysis and support for technology-related strategic initiatives.[21]

In 2025, Insights generated approximately 78% of consolidated revenue, Conferences 10%, and Consulting 9%. The remaining 3% was classified as Other, which included Digital Markets rather than a fourth reportable segment. Gartner sold Digital Markets in February 2026.[17][21] [21]
