Overview

Frontdoor, Inc. is a U.S. home-services company centered on home warranties, which help homeowners manage the cost of repairing or replacing covered home systems and appliances. Its offerings include warranty plans sold under brands such as American Home Shield, HSA, OneGuard, Landmark and 2-10 HBW, as well as home-maintenance services and warranty and service-administration products for home builders.[1]

The company describes its mission as taking the hassle out of owning a home. Its warranty services operate across the United States; at the end of 2025, Frontdoor reported about 2.1 million active home warranties and a nationwide network of approximately 17,000 independent contractor firms.[2][3]

Frontdoor reported fiscal 2025 revenue of $2.093 billion and 2,034 employees as of December 31, 2025.[4][5] [1]

Products & services

Frontdoor’s home-service plans are sold under brands including American Home Shield (AHS), HSA, OneGuard, Landmark, and 2-10 HBW. Plans generally cover repair or replacement of covered systems and appliances that fail through normal wear and tear; the company says its plans can cover up to 29 types of items, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water heaters, and kitchen and laundry appliances. Optional coverage includes pools, spas, and pumps.[1][6] AHS plan examples include ShieldSilver for major systems, ShieldGold for systems plus kitchen and laundry appliances, and ShieldPlatinum, which adds benefits such as roof-leak coverage and unlimited air-conditioning refrigerant; coverage limits and terms vary by plan.[7]

Warranty service includes arranging repairs through a nationwide network of independent contractors; Frontdoor reported approximately 17,000 contractor firms and about 3.8 million annual warranty service requests. The company also offers non-warranty services such as HVAC upgrades and installations, HVAC tune-ups, installation of Moen water shut-off monitors, lock re-keying, home maintenance, and discounts on HVAC systems and appliances.[3] Its Frontdoor app connects homeowners with pre-qualified home-repair experts by live video chat and provides DIY guidance and discounts.[11]

Through 2-10 HBW, Frontdoor offers new-home builder warranties, including builder-backed and insurance-backed coverage for workmanship, home distribution systems, and structural components, as well as homeowner service-request management and claims administration.[12] In its 2026 second-quarter filing, the company said most revenue comes from home-warranty contracts, with other revenue from non-warranty services and new-home builder warranties; it did not disclose percentages by individual product, plan, or brand in that disclosure.[13] [1]

Geographic presence

Frontdoor’s customer and service footprint is primarily in the United States: the company describes its home-warranty operations as nationwide and says substantially all of its revenue comes from U.S. customers. Its disclosures do not provide a U.S./international revenue percentage or a country-by-country revenue breakdown.[3]

The company also has selected overseas support and technology operations. Business-process outsourcing providers perform some customer-service and other work in Colombia, Ghana, Guyana, Mexico, the Philippines, and Trinidad and Tobago; Frontdoor has a technology collaboration center in Pune, India. At Dec. 31, 2025, it reported 2,034 employees—1,986 in the U.S. and 48 in India. Its disclosed U.S. locations include corporate headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, a collaboration center in Scottsdale, Arizona, and a former 2-10 HBW office in Aurora, Colorado, whose sale was completed in April 2026.[15] [3]

Business segments

Frontdoor reports one operating and reportable segment; it does not disclose separate reportable segments or assign distinct segment names. Management evaluates results on a consolidated basis. For fiscal 2025, the segment generated $2.093 billion in revenue, representing approximately 100% of consolidated revenue.[19][20]

The segment primarily covers home warranty contracts for breakdowns of home systems and appliances. Frontdoor also provides new-home builder warranties and support services, as well as non-warranty home services; the company does not report separate revenue contributions for these activities.[3][12] [19]

Company history

Frontdoor’s history traces to American Home Shield, which began serving homeowners in 1971. Its home-warranty business expanded through acquisitions: HSA Home Warranty was acquired in 2014, followed by OneGuard Home Warranties and Landmark Home Warranty in 2016.[21]

ServiceMaster announced plans to spin off its home-services-plan business in 2017, and Frontdoor was formed in January 2018 to hold the business. The spin-off was completed on October 1, 2018, making Frontdoor an independent public company.[24][25] Frontdoor expanded beyond traditional home-service plans with the launch of Candu, an on-demand home-services offering, in 2019 and the expansion of AHS ProConnect to 35 metropolitan markets in 2020.[26][27] In 2024, it acquired 2-10 Holdco, extending its business into new-home-builder warranties and related services.[28][12] [21]
