Company history

Fortune Brands Innovations’ public-company history began in 2011, when Fortune Brands Home & Security was spun off from Fortune Brands, Inc. and started trading independently. Its early expansion included the 2013 acquisition of WoodCrafters, the 2015 addition of Norcraft, and the 2016 formation of the Global Plumbing Group, which included acquisitions such as Riobel and ROHL.[25]

The company broadened beyond its established home-products businesses in 2018 with the acquisition of Fiberon, entering composite decking and outdoor living. In 2020–21 it added Larson Manufacturing, expanding its doors business. Nicholas Fink became CEO in January 2020, succeeding Christopher Klein.[29]

In December 2022, the company separated its Cabinets business through the distribution of MasterBrand shares and changed its name from Fortune Brands Home & Security to Fortune Brands Innovations, Inc. In 2023 it acquired Emtek and Schaub, along with the U.S. and Canadian residential smart-lock businesses of Yale and August; in 2024 it acquired water-filtration company SpringWell. In 2026, Jesse Singh became CEO, succeeding interim CEO David Barry, and the company initiated a strategic review of Fiberon.[32] [25]
