Its FirstService Residential segment manages residential communities and provides related services, while FirstService Brands delivers property services to residential and commercial customers through company-owned operations and franchises. First Onsite and Paul Davis provide property-damage restoration; Roofing Corp of America provides commercial roof inspection, maintenance, repair and replacement; and Century Fire Protection designs, installs and maintains fire-protection systems, including sprinklers and alarms. Its other offerings include custom storage systems from California Closets, residential and commercial painting from CertaPro Painters, flooring selection and installation from Floor Coverings International, and home inspections from Pillar to Post. Company history
FirstService’s roots trace to a commercial swimming-pool and recreational-facility management business started by Jay Hennick in 1972. FirstService Corporation dates its establishment to 1989. It went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 1993 and listed on Nasdaq in 1995.[27]
As its residential property-management businesses expanded, they adopted the FirstService Residential name in 2013. In June 2015, the former FirstService was separated into two publicly traded companies: Colliers International and a new FirstService Corporation, comprising FirstService Residential and FirstService Brands. FirstService continued to expand through acquisitions; in 2023, it added Roofing Corp of America as a commercial-roofing platform.[28][29][30] [28][30][27][29]
